And I'm a Florida girl turned Cali girl turned New Yorker turner Cal again so I get it 😂It has been pretty chilly here though, I think it's in the 40s or low 50s right now but it gets warm during the day. Hey, tahini is a good substitute! I showed the one I have from Trader Joe's in the video but just make sure it's the light colored runny kind, not the thicker kind 😊
What do you recommend thinning out Tahini with? I have that same Tahini from Trader Joe's and every time I try to thin it out with water (which is what I see others doing and it works perfectly), it gets super chunky and "curdles"... :/
Hey Laura! That's exactly what I thought when I first started making tahini sauce...like what am I doing wrong? But here's a recipe for my tahini sauce and I'm pasting a part of the directions from my blog here: "The sauce will separate and you will panic thinking something went wrong. Keep stirring. It will come together and thicken before your eyes!" It's so common for it to separate first, but you just keep staring and adding a little more liquid from the water and lemon juice (recipe below) and it becomes silky smooth! I also have a recipe for my vegan" honey" mustard that is super silky too. Hope you enjoy these sauces!
