I wrote to GWM about the Expert Mode, it is just a form of re-calibrated traction control for off road use, however, it's virtually useless. And it certainly does not affect the transfer case friction profile. I already worked this out before contacting them, as I had used it on a sealed surface and it operated just fine, same as Normal mode (permanent 4WD), and on soft sand etc Expert Mode still interferes. GWM also confirmed that 4L has the highest friction profile for the Transfer Case, this is the only mode that affects the rate of toque sent to the front. It's a pity there isn't a mode for 4H as well, but there are aftermarket modules that allow this to be modified now.
NICE! Glad we have some official information, i see a lot of the people are a bit confused on the subject, I'm guessing that the Limited edition has a different profile to the expert mode, but that said it also has a different transfer case. It would be great if we could get a % friction or % engaged to see how much drive is being sent to the front wheels depending if you are in normal vs 4L. I would say that being in normal in this car is probably a pseudo 4H. Thanks for the info!!
Hi there. Nice vids about your van and adventures. I also have a LT and I love it. Just something I picked up from this video. You mentioned fuel consumption between 11 and 14 km/l. How the hel do you do that? I average 9 to 9.4 if I am lucky. Would also like to know if you also spend a lot of time at the pumps to fill up diesel? Once the diesel nozzle kicks out I can get about another 6 to 8 liters of diesel in, but it takes forever. Enjoy your travels and be safe.
Well, funny story after i added the tyres, bullbar and so on it has completely changed my fuel consumption and am now getting 8-10km/l. What i do is drive 100-110 km/h and just cruise, that gets me the best fuel consumption. I drove down to the coast once and got 14 km/l but the car was standard and i just cruised along around 110 km/h. I have however made a HUGE change, i will elaborate more on a future video. Cant say too much about filling it up, but i have noticed that takes bit longer when trying to get every last drop in, i just go to first click unless i need those few extra liters. Glad you enjoying the videos!
@OdventureOverland Hi there. Thanks for replying. I have seen on other platforms as well that tires make a big change. As for driving style, ja well I am guilty. I do drive a bit faster than you, hence the fuel consumption that I get, but I can live with it. All the best, and I am looking forward to your next video .
That name is pronounced the same as Pep Guardiola, coach of Manchester City. Great review by the way
Well done Vinnie,great one 👏 👍
Great video, can't wait for the next one keep it up my man !
