Yes of course it is checked, they take a 60 year old Scottish man, give him a nip from the same barrel, he reports if it tastes the same as is first drink when he was 10, if he agrees it does, then they take 10 from 60 and that is why it is called 50 year old scotch.
Im good with my variety of four roses, wild turkey, glenfiddich, or Jameson black barrel. Paying thousands for a bottle ain't me. But I would like to taste a sip some time.
