Hi, I have just subscribed to your channel. I have been looking for a channel just like yours, watched a couple of videos and enjoyed them.
I love older cars in condition that shows the age that they are.
They don't need to look like new to be loved and enjoyed.
I am in New Zealand and I have a 1961 Humber Hawk Series II as shown in my profile picture.
I inherited it from my father seven years ago after he passed away. He bought it in 1964 and used it well until he stored it away 25 years ago. Since he passed away I have been working on getting it ready for driving again. I am going to keep its age.
I had some Austin Maxi's before the Humber. I have known the Humber all my life and always loved it.
I loved the Maxis too, I had three within a 20 year period. Had heaps of fun with them.

Hi Steph - I love your road tests. We have a '57 Minor four-door purchased 5 years ago in Australia and shipped back home with us to the 'States after our ex-pat jobs were over. Ours is named "Sadie" after the original owner from Melbourne. I have had many collector cars - but our Morris is without doubt, the most reliable one EVER! She absolutely starts on the button every single time. So nice to have a car that is an actual joy to work on.
    Cheers from across!

Excellent as always. I learnt to drive in a 1953 Morris minor. Good car but required patience as slow to accelerate. Also, the semiphores were mounted behind front door at waist level. I think I managed to accidentally snap off two before my mother wisely invested in a flasher indicator kit conversion. Very happy memories.

Just subscribed. A great channel. A lot of these cars you drive I don't think of as old. They were common on the road when I started driving. I had Anglias ,Capris, Crestas,Hillman minxs, Rover P6 V8 , Cortinas and many many more. But thinking about it Apart from car shows none are common on the road today. All this just made me realise i'm getting old. I love the Minor. Keep up the good work...

My mother had a 1958 Morris Minor 1000 in this exact colour from 1969 to 1983. My grandfather had owned it from new, and he passed it to her when he got a new car. I can see various differences between the earlier and the newer ones, such as the front indicators (as you point out), the wiper pattern and the steering wheel. I believe it was 1965 when they went for the safer plastic type (although you would know better than me). Hers is still on the road, as a family friend rescued it from storage in 2006 (an old colleague of my father's bought it in 1983 and never did anything with it subsequently), and he restored it, although I think he got a bit bored and sold it on a couple of years ago. Amazing how these cars are so easy to work on and relatively easy to find parts for!

Hi there from New Zealand. I owned a moss green Morris Minor and a cream one and loved them both. But I did find the seats very uncomfortable on longer trips. Also just watched your Zephyr video. My grandfather bought a ford consul from the Ford motor factory in Petone, just outside Wellington, New Zealand which is about 10 mins down the road from our house. His car was the same blue colour as the Zephyr you drove. Thank you for your videos. Dan

Great video again Steph. My 1963 4 door had the old sidelights an tail lights, but no semaphores. When you indicated, the side and tail lights flashed. When you braked, the two brake lights came on, but when you indicated at the same time the light flashed! I think that system was only fitted for 2 or 3 years. The minor was the first car with rack and pinion steering.

I'd much rather have a Minor in this condition. Just seems more honest and usable and it doesn't just exist as art like a lot of concourse cars.
