In so many of these comments you see the constant comparisons about John and Keith. Let it alone and enjoy what you are watching. Everyone who has filled in has been very talented. Great musicians just don't pop up when one snaps their fingers. LONG LIVE ROCK!!!!
@deanlad27 It's safe to say that besides the Who (which I didn't feel needed to be mentioned, given he's playing for them in this video) what he's best known for is being one of the drummers for Oasis.
@jokerwalrusmusic Funny note if you didn't know: Roger originally joined the band (way back when they were the Detours) as lead guitarist, and Pete was rhythm guitarist.
it's great that he made a name for himself as a great drummer ..also , by using his dad's real name there are no misconceptions..although it does help that your dad is a freaking beatle..i also heard that keith moon gave him lessons as well.seeing as how his drumming is much more aggressive than his old man's .. but they're both great ..just like john and jason bonham ..2 different styles but both great !!
Pete's adlib is silly. Could you go into any more detail, Pete? "I wrote this, that, blah blah... Then I went to the shop to get some milk. Then I got this really cool shirt, I was just nineteen".
His voice has held up, just barely. The kid on the drums is competent to play this song, which means he can hold his own with the best rock drummers on the planet.
its just that on the video for the kids are alright its in e flat, all the other versions i agree are in d, unless the video is laying at the wrong speed or something
@dmf3367 As far as I know, putz, there was a short period (and I mean short) where there were five members of the band, which included Pete on rhythm and Roger as lead. That's what I've read on pretty much every site on the internet, and I'm pretty sure it was mentioned in either Amazing Journey or Kids Are Alright (probably the former). Sorry if I'm wrong. Of course, my comment was only related to Roger playing guitar so I didn't mention him getting fired, which I knew. But whatever.
impreprex1979 I think he is with them, he's listed on their Website, plus he shows up on the You Tube videos from April/May 2015 that are being posted. Plus he plays guitar in his own little band Sshh, will be performing in NYC tomorrow night. :-)
It's interesting the ablating Pete does in the middle of the song is different to what he did on the DVD I have. And so what about Rogers shirt, he's on stage, the lights are glaring down on him, it's hot, so he can take all the way off if he really wanted too.
Missing the manic drummer so the song sounds like you could play it at a folk festival. Pete and Roger still sound good. Miss the spinning microphone too!
He's said fucking for a while though. He said in Who Are You, who the fuck are you, and in Doctor Jimmy he said it too. IT doesn't really matter though, it's just a word.
The only good thing that Ringo Starr did in life, after he won the lottery of the Beatles, it was this son who plays drums in The Who. Not like K. Moon but not the worst.
is the original single in e flat, this is in D right , but on the vid for the origianal hes miming it in d , maybe it was sped up or something i dunno lol.
Keith probably emptied his balls in stranger places (or stranger strangers). Actually, if I was a drummer and my dad was Ringo, I'd be looking for a more exciting style...kinda like if Jerry Lee Lewis was Beethoven's son (LMAO).
Haha, "I'll go out of my fucking mind" Seems like Daltry was in a mood for cursing :D
Best band ever!
R.I.P Keith & John!
There was nothing he could be charged with. He was dragged in filth thanks to the media.
Ultimately, no matter the result. the music is fantastic.
What a beautiful performance, so many years after they originally did this song.
Don't be absurd... go and listen to the lead-up to the loud bits in "Oh Darln'". Ringo is a damned king on drums, he just wasn't a show-off.
"I know if I don't, I'll go out of my fucking mind"
I love you Roger!
It stopped being THE WHO 30 years ago when Keith Moon died..and how could it possibly still be The Who with John Entwhistle gone???
In so many of these comments you see the constant comparisons about John and Keith. Let it alone and enjoy what you are watching. Everyone who has filled in has been very talented. Great musicians just don't pop up when one snaps their fingers. LONG LIVE ROCK!!!!
I was at this show... I just saw them last week... I actually like them better now.. better backing vocals.. 2 guitars.. BIG SOUND...
The best band of all time, simple as
Life wouldnt be the same without The Who
@deanlad27 It's safe to say that besides the Who (which I didn't feel needed to be mentioned, given he's playing for them in this video) what he's best known for is being one of the drummers for Oasis.
Roger on guitar and Zakk on drums. Neat!
@jokerwalrusmusic Funny note if you didn't know: Roger originally joined the band (way back when they were the Detours) as lead guitarist, and Pete was rhythm guitarist.
Is it just me, or does Roger look like Hercules with his shirt open like that? (plus the curly hair)
I saw them in 76. Nothing else compares.
Hey Pete, I love yours and The Who's music. If you can , take Marky Ramone as a new drummer in the future one time. That will be very cool !
oh pete 65 and still can whip out a fucking amazing solo
Yeah, interesting about Roger playing a guitar again. It took me a long time to get used to also seeing Jon Anderson with a guitar.
Yup he formed the band with John and he played lead guitar and they played jazz music :)
it's great that he made a name for himself as a great drummer ..also , by using his dad's real name there are no misconceptions..although it does help that your dad is a freaking beatle..i also heard that keith moon gave him lessons as well.seeing as how his drumming is much more aggressive than his old man's .. but they're both great ..just like john and jason bonham ..2 different styles but both great !!
Amazing!
In that tour, he improvised that part of this song nearly every night. Some nights it was better than others. Pretty ballsy in my opinion.
That drummer is probably their best drummer to take Keiths place even though there is noone like keith moon
wow just an awsom song that has hiding away from me for so long.
Because of all the things the Who are, controlled and polite are the things that really stand out.
@evilemperordude Roger played lead guitar before they actually became the Who.
The name of "The Kids Aren't Alright" is a reference to this song, but I just listened and there's very few similarities music-wise.
I love it
I know, I was speaking generally "they still haven't found someone good enough".
I think Zak replaced him marvellously. But they haven't found a bassist worthy of Entwistle's shoes yet.
zak's got his dads nose for sure and uncle keiths drumming ability with his das of course
The who are forever alright!
Pete's adlib is silly.
Could you go into any more detail, Pete?

His voice has held up, just barely. The kid on the drums is competent to play this song, which means he can hold his own with the best rock drummers on the planet.
I wouldn't expect much more from a guy who likes Pearl Jam.
its just that on the video for the kids are alright its in e flat, all the other versions i agree are in d, unless the video is laying at the wrong speed or something

aka. The Kids Aren't Alright When Townshend's Around?
This was a really early song, he wrote it before he had any serious problems.
Daltrey's hulking out of his shirt.
Why does the camera ignore John? He's an essential part of the show.
Who is king never lost his majesty
R.I.P John.
Ringo's kid is more than alright.
j7286 Yeah, Zak is awesome. I don't think he's on tour with them this year, though. :(
impreprex1979 I think he is with them, he's listed on their Website, plus he shows up on the You Tube videos from April/May 2015 that are being posted. Plus he plays guitar in his own little band Sshh, will be performing in NYC tomorrow night. :-)
Roger was the original lead guitarist.
most of us got here alive... in one piece... awesome :)
It's interesting the ablating Pete does in the middle of the song is different to what he did on the DVD I have. And so what about Rogers shirt, he's on stage, the lights are glaring down on him, it's hot, so he can take all the way off if he really wanted too.
@jokerwalrusmusic I guess it took him 45 years to learn to play.LOL I don't ever remember seeing him with an instrument but a tambourine
Missing the manic drummer so the song sounds like you could play it at a folk festival. Pete and Roger still sound good. Miss the spinning microphone too!
thats because The Loon mentored Starky when he was growing up
He wasn't getting any CP. He just clicked on a site that was one of the Landslide sites the authorities were investigating.
He's from Oasis. Zak Starkey.
I laughed at the mental image of a song physically avoiding someone.
@TheGB1950 I think Roger played guitar before he was a vocalist.
A+++
that's right !
He's said fucking for a while though. He said in Who Are You, who the fuck are you, and in Doctor Jimmy he said it too. IT doesn't really matter though, it's just a word.
Yeah, Ringo's real name was Starkey but he shortened it to Starr as his stage name.
Pete is not a pedo!!pete is pete...a great guitarist!!! great!
zak's got a nice haircut!
John RAAAAAABBIT Bunduk!!!
Uhh John Entwistle is on bass here. The video was made in 2000, 2 years before he died.
Yes
Only The who= rock´s !
Sometimes i feel i gotta get away
the kids arent alright with Pete
if you see what i mean with his charges. ha-ha
the who now are not a group without keith moon.
@bassfeile Well if he's good enough for Teenage Head, a one off of Marky with the Who would be probably a lot of fun.
@Landon139
....Please tell me that you were being sarcastic... He has been for only the last 3 'decades'
The only good thing that Ringo Starr did in life, after he won the lottery of the Beatles, it was this son who plays drums in The Who. Not like K. Moon but not the worst.
wow i love the who and i love roger daltry but i gotta say that he does look alot like trapper from m.a.s.h. :P
zac was taught by keith moon and john bonham some drum tutors lol , and lifestyle coachs ,
I think Keith would have dug Zak. I like the improv too.
is the original single in e flat, this is in D right , but on the vid for the origianal hes miming it in d , maybe it was sped up or something i dunno lol.
i doubt he was trying to stay cool, he's got millions of dollars plus he's roger fucking daltrey, but its cool. Tristan, 16 from Sandestin, FL
I honestly don't care if he's a pedo or not, he's still a great guy.
@StraightTwoDVD How the heck is he terrible. He doesn't do anything wrong in this vid
Keith probably emptied his balls in stranger places (or stranger strangers). Actually, if I was a drummer and my dad was Ringo, I'd be looking for a more exciting style...kinda like if Jerry Lee Lewis was Beethoven's son (LMAO).
@drledsabbath yes.
i mean, he didnt get that kind of playing drumms from ringo, dont you think?
who gave roger a guitar? haha i'm kidding of course i just always think it's funny to see him with a guitar instead of his crazy stage dancing.
yaarrr
おじぃちゃーん!
Keith Moons Godson.
the orig is in D
@wingedgallop Is there more than one Ringo?
hey shoulda had jack white do this at rock honors
They don't! Look how they are playing!
He's pretty much deaf in one ear.
vocals a bit weak on this version but love the who
mamma mia ma perchè la gente invecchia???
Is that the dude from Wilco on drums?
is this supposed to be like the kids arnt alright by the offspring cuz someone told me that the offspring didnt write so who did?
Great performance,
pretty dodgy monologue by Pete there though :/ He really ought to have written it out, or at least thought about it before the gig.
is that zac starkey on drums
The kids aren't allright!
OFFSPRING!!!!!!!!!!!!
its old news anyway.
Bahahaha.
still no shirt though
But of course he was a sex offender... which is why they didn't punish him in any way and let him go.
It makes perfect sense.
hey zak, are you sure you are not really the son of mr. moon?...
I heard that Pete had gone near deaf,is that true?
