Currently bidding on one of these on eBay. Can’t justify the £600 price as a beginner when I’m trying to save up but it’s also my birthday this month though and it’s been a tough year soooo... Really excited to get into riding, I haven’t ridden a bike for nearly 17 years now so it’ll be fun to see how I get on
Hi, I was planning on getting the Nucleus VR but the shipping cost is $150 which brings the total to $850, do you think it's still worth more even at $850 rather than a trek marlin 6 from my local bike shop for $700 total?
Marlin 6 seems to have a worse drivetrain (Altus) than VR, but also considerably cheaper in your case. Other parts seem comparable afaik. I also had to fork out 880 euro for the VR which makes it not a great value as it was, but still acceptable considering the huge stock issues most brands have atm.
Currently own the VR, I was looking at the VRS but I picked the VR because I liked the nardo grey over the red. Part of me wishes I spent the $150 more for a better bike, but man do I love how my bike looks.
Not gunna lie Ben, I hate the red and love that grey! Haha grass is always greener right? The red kinda sucks but it was literally the only thing they had available.
I have a 2016 Nucleas, the breaks are excellent when you upgrade the pads and bed them in. After rideing hard for 7years iv not had to replace a single component.
man, I’m pretty sure the price went up recently, realistically I’m going to have to ship the bike for 150 it’s gunna cost me close to 1000 at that point. is it still worth it you think? I’m just worried I’m going to be wasting money
you're right. they were sold out for months and then bumped the price. I still think it's a great deal because I believe prices are going up across all brands. So you have to look at it relative to other bike brands, and looking at thet I still think it's a great deal.
I mean everything has gone up in price though. It's hard to say, but it really should be based on your budget. I'd try to see if you can find one used now though as they're not fresh to market anymore.
Hi, dilemma between the 2021 vrs and Cannondale 2022 Trail 5 29err which I have found for the same price. Riding a lot of roads then light/moderate trails. Recommendations welcome. Thanks
I'm glad that more people are talking about the the Vitus Nucleus bikes but you mention multiple prices which were updated over a month ago. The fork travel you mention is wrong, there is no 102 travel to the best of my recollection (on any bike). The brakes are definitely crappy! I'm not here to hate I just want you to get the facts correct.
Hey brotha. Thanks for watching. Yea, at the time of filming the prices were lower, so I went back and put the updated prices in text on the screen. Also, the xcr32 boost air has 120mm of travel. Did I state that incorrectly? Could have been a brain fart on my part. What are you riding?
just ordered mine after selling my scott scale 60, my partner is also getting one after selling her btwinn rockrider 540, Ha im already thinking about upgrades i do have some neat pedals from amazon and a 35mm stem from CRC, Both of us will go tubeless once a tyre has worn out. dropper post will be added this year I will upgrade the grips to deathgrips and im also opting for a top end Hope brake system swapping the front rotor for 203 and a 180 on the rear, once the chain has worn out i9 shall replace with a top end upgrade cant wait . . .
just bought a VR 2022 model and the only thing i have to complain is the shipping cost i paid $1,118 including shipping, the bike and taxes but then again i may be the only one having this problem since i live in Puerto Rico and shipping costs are insane
Hey wassup brother I would like to have a comparison between the Trek Marlin 7 hardtail vs Vitus Nucleus vrs hardtail. I know that the Marlin 7 has 100mm front air suspension and the Vitus Nucleus vrs hardtail has 120mm. Would like to know your honest feedback between these two bikes brother. I know that the Vitus Nucleus for the price has some pretty good components for the price and it's a great entry level again for the price.
I’m sorry bro, to be honest I’ve never ridden a marlin 7. I really like treks and owned one for a long time, but I can’t speak on the marlin until I ride one for myself. When I was shopping it was the beginning of COVID and all treks and specialized were sold out completely. By my rule is always try to ride/sit on them and get the bike that fits you best and you feel most comfortable on. Cheers ✌🏽
I actually LOVE Marin bikes in general. I haven’t had the chance to ride the San Quenton, so I don’t like to judge. But on paper it’s actually a nice setup and a decent value for the price. How’s availability right now though? When I was shopping Marin had nothing in stock.
I have just invested in the vitus sentier vrs 27 , I absolutely love it so far , not sure what the difference is between the nucleus or sentier , have really enjoyed mine so far though , feels great quality .
$700 for a damn bike I can buy one for $20 at the junk store up the street. Dude you got money to spend. I like the new lighting setup too it's like darker in the back and still you get a perfect exposure on the face. Thanks for sharing bro can't wait till your next video come out.
@@DominicPhillip weird question but you got any photos of the Nucleus you can send? Just noticed the XL looks so much different to the product photos because of the larger size.
Hey cool video. Really a shame that the price has gone up and the waiting time is beyond silly ...then you pay quite a chunk of shipping. To be honest...this review felt a little like a paid promo.. not hating but it had to be said.
Hey Dan, I feel you. I had to wait 4 months and get a 27 to get mine. And I appreciate the feedback, although to be honest I have no connection to the brand and paid full price for mine. I just like the bike and I guess I naturally come off a bit used car salesman. Lmaoo
@@DominicPhillip Ahhhh really .. wow...Then that was a super positive review.. my bad.. just was expressing how it felt from my side. 4 months? Your lucky.....lol...
I think at 6’1 you’ll still be fine. You probably could have gone either way. I think you’re right though, I shorter stem will help and so will a dropper. It’s a must upgrade
@@DominicPhillip 👍put on a 40mm stem today, just 10mm shorter, almost dialed in, dont wanna go any shorter, because it will shift all the weight to the rear wheel.

Have just ordered one! Love the review! will be grabbing a dropper post straight away!
Excellent review, you know your stuff. Very helpful cheers mate :)
Thank you sir. Appreciate that. Cheers!
What should I get for my budget of £1000 - Vitus Nucleus VRS + dropper post OR just Vitus Sentier 29? Thanks.
I'd go VRS with a dropper, and I'd beat the hell out of it. :)

The Vitus website shows the Suntour forks has 120 mm travel and you said 102 mm travel. Which one is correct?
Sorry that was a brain fart. It’s 120mm. Also, I paid $60 for shipping to California. Hope that helps!
the 120mm travel is correct. not the 102

Just ordered mine this morning...
Total price was $839
Cost me 880 euro in total as well. Not the best value it was, but seemingly still good especially considering the stock issues on every brand.
@@DominicPhillip wow, I got one cheap luckily
Hey guys I'm stuck between the Vitus Nucleus 29 VRS and the Polygon Xtrada 6 which is beter ? Thank you
I actually like polygon bikes. I’ve never ridden the xtrada though, but my buddy has a different model and loves it.
What size frame frame did you buy? how tall are you?
So both the VR ant the VRS have gone up in price. The VR is going for around $950 now. Is it still the vest value at that price?
I mean everything has gone up in price though. It's hard to say, but it really should be based on your budget. I'd try to see if you can find one used now though as they're not fresh to market anymore.

27 vs 29er? What are you riding?
I'm riding a mountain bike that I got from a pawn shop.
27.5. Everyone tells me that I should go 29er since I ride mostly XC but I love the feel of my 27.5's lol
29er

What is better this or the Marin san Quentin 1
I've never ridden the Marin so I can't say. Go sit on one if you can and see what fits you well. I have no complaints for my Vitus though so far.
Hello thanks for the share. Drive safe and enjoy every ride my new friend. thanks

hey what size did you buy?
Hey Sam, I’m 6’3” so I went with a XL. It fits me well, but I fit most xl mountain bikes well.

forks are through axel and boost much stiffer on vrs , vr 100 x 9 mm quick release .
