Traffic on the Franconia Notch Parkway

This is I-93 Southbound along the Franconia Notch Parkway in New Hampshire, featuring a big backup along the parkway on a Sunday afternoon. These are perhaps vacationers headed home for the weekend, AND leaf peepers, as this weekend was close to peak foliage.
This goes to show why the Franconia Notch Parkway desperately NEEDS to have a second lane in each direction. I understand there were concerns regarding the Old Man on the Mountain, but that landmark's long gone, now!! It's been gone since 2003, so that's over TWENTY YEARS for crying out loud. So PLEASE do something about this, NHDOT!!
