I do love the detail of him holding his hand behind his back while attacking when Duelist is active, like he does in Clone Wars. It's a minor detail, but I love it.
Dooku being really good at taking down lightsaber heroes and not being as good at general large battles like GA/Supremacy is really good character design tbh.
I would advice to get rid of the crit strike and add more stamina. Its just much more useful and versatile and can save you bum more times than one can imagine. It is a default star card for me that shouldn't be taken off unless you go for max damage Dooku (which can be a two hit kill on blaster heroes if you plan it correctly). So yeah, get rid of the crit strike and use the increased stamina.
Stamina has rarely ever been an issue for me playing Dooku. There's no way in hell that you'll run out of stamina by attacking unless you're just spamming against a blocking enemy, which is not advised, and if you're utilizing his dodges properly then block stamina shouldn't be much of an issue either, unless you're trying to play tennis with blaster heroes or something.
@@krugeren2194 i aggre but instead of the critical hit or more damage with duelist i would just add the cooldown for lighintg lower becuase when you have duelist you arleady one shoot 150 health troops and even with the more damage thing heavy troops you dont one shot them. You can use the lighting as a fail safe instead
I see a lot of people use the initiative card.. don’t use it it’s so useless and really doesn’t make any difference with dookus lightsaber damage. Best set up as a max dooku Sith control, Finesse, and Masterful Duelist those are the best cards
Here's my best tips for him Always always always have finesse on Give him the most swing stamina in the game (22). And gives him above average blocking stamina against sabers (22) (obi and Vader are the only ones who can out number this). In hero modes don't over extend and go full agro when opponents are distracted or weak enough. When being ganked parrying isn't gonna do u good. Just hold block and dodge spam. And wait for a good opportunity to get a lightning stun out to either give u room to breath or get some dmg in. When fighting blasters (not han l well get to him) try and see what their roll pattern is and or bait them out and hit them on the end lag with a swing or lightning. Don't saber spam unless they are out of anything to use on u. With han just stay on him and read his rolls and abilities and punish and he'll eventually be out of shit to do. Or bait his abilities and go ham. Jump swings are also effective against rolls. The name of the game is patience.
I sorta disagree with the not parry and hold block and dodge tip, you gotta use duelist and weakness ability on the saber character, that way you can parry damage the most and since you are waaaaayyy faster you can get more hits in with more damage killing them faster, and if your gonna die you might as well do the most damage, doing this in tight situations when I’m cornered as got me the most kills as I’ve been playing dooku for a while, even when I first learned how to use him, parry attacking with duelist is a godly move to do

I like using Last Seconds (reduced lightning stun recharge time) for trooper game mode. Lightning stun allows for an easy one hit KO on troopers with less risk than swinging a lightsaber, also has slightly better range.
I actually find this card to be more useful in the hero modes as the lightning stun overall is just an absolute top tier stunning ability against heroes, especially blaster users, right up there alongside Iden's droid stun and Palpatine's Electrocution ability. If you get a successful stun against a hero with Dooku's lightning, the follow up damage you can deal is pretty insane for that second of helplessness, especially if you already have Expose Weakness active on the hero and Duelist already activated for that extra attack speed and damage. Add to that the Initiative card for an extra 50 damage every fifteen seconds, the Masterful Duelist card bringing your extra Duelist damage up to 45 giving you a flat 175 damage per strike (225 from behind), or the Dominance card giving 40% total extra damage with Expose Weakness. With these equipped alongside Last Seconds, you have a reliable and consistent set up to melt heroes health every ten seconds... if they even live past the first stun. If you are just entering combat and you use Lightning Stun while having Initiative ready, Duelist active with the Masterful Duelist card, and Expose Weakness popped, and you are behind your target, your first strike will do a whopping 310 damage, which is a significant portion of health from lightsaber heroes and already almost half of most blaster heroes health (or in Finn's case just over half). The follow up damage will then be 260 flat from there if you are still attacking from behind, meaning that the next two strikes would kill any blaster hero who isn't a Wookie with bonus health and damage reduction.
I do find flanking in HvV with Dooku is often brutal to the other team. I let characters like Vader and Kylo go in head first. I prefer to circle around lightsaber sheathed. Then pop Duelist and maybe Expose someone, you can tear a couple of unaware heroes down in seconds and ensure the rest are so panicked they die to your allies.
I'm surprised you didn't mention his stamina and expose weakness buffing cards. 40% less stamina drain let's you maintain duelist a lot better and the card that lets you double the effect of exposed weakness makes it so that they take an extra 40% damage which is pretty huge in HvV. It makes the risk of using expose weakness well worth it, helps you take out unsuspecting characters much faster and really helps your team out sometimes.
@@johnholland8044 the extra health regen is nice but if I'm losing that much health anyways I'd rather just do more damage with masterful duelist before I die(in HvV that is)
@@boogie1434 honestly his Regen card is the only one I constantly use in hvv since he has basically no range at all and his health will directly decide if he wins the next up close encounter. Masterful duellist is an ok card but basic duellist is fine already.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is also another character to look out for. He has the ability to turn off opponent's abilities for a short period of time, so that is definitely worth mentioning. He also got the best defense, so he can block nearly all hits Dooku would unleash on him (even with high swing speed).
Basically Dooku excels up close. Don’t engage with enemies more than the Lightning stun range, it will end badly. Best cards imo for trooper modes are Balanced duelist, sith control and finesse. You can always change out finesse for last seconds. For hero modes you want max damage output… Masterful duelist, dominance and initiative. IMO, this seems to be the most reliable way to get kills in each respective mode. I have maxed out Dooku so I think I have a pretty good idea of how to play him.
dude dooku is my main in supremacy i get like 100 to 150 kills him every match with him and he is great but u just gotta be a little bit laid back and he is not like darth maul you can't rush towards the enemies because he doesn't have something to get out of a situation fast like mauls spin attack . all and all just don't be too aggressive wait for your enemy to find u not the other way around this method helped me at least

Dooku is the most unique saber-user as seen in his specialization in the second for and I think this is the greatest mistake most players make with him. He isn't supposed to aggro and tank like Obi-Wan or Vader, he's not supposed to DPS like Maul or Rey, he is supposed to identify High-Value-Targets and assassinate. Lightning has higher damage the fewer targets there are. If you can avoid damage (such as from a single or few hostiles) then Duelist is a straight damage buff. And Expose Weakness absolutely removes single-targets as dangerous. Combine all three in the right order and you can 2-3 shot any character in the game with little to no resistance. Absolutely devestating especially in those super-defensive maps where tanks are game changers like Round 4 of Naboo or Kamino's Cloning Facilities. If you rush with him, you'll die. If you reserve and defend, observe for most dangerous hostile, and target, then you'll use his strengths and minimize his weaknesses.
Avoiding open space maps as Dooku is important. In HVV Scarif and especially Crait are always full of 3-4 blasters. The only counter is expose weakness, but you can't reach them most of the time. The best maps are with more enclosed areas and obsactles.
I use expose weakness for quick 1 on 1 duels. Characters who can’t block force/saber attacks are almost guaranteed a good example is solo and Finn. When I see them I use expose weakness and duelist and they die in less than 30 seconds. Of course if they are strong players it’s much harder.
personally i find finesse better, Just for me because i find myself going up against several people at and time and running out of stamina quickly but i do REALLY love the other cards you recommend
More Stamina, crit strike and more health regen cards are my picks. The crit strike has clutched the win for me too many times to count. The stamina card is so good over all too. it's a 70% combined reduction when blocking and attacking that's an extra 5 blocks or an extra 5 attacks. 19 attacks and/or blocks all up. Also don't be just standing thea tho blocking/swing spamming. Gotta use those dodges to get distance or to close or generally dance around your opponent. The more they swing and hit nothing the more desperate they become. Meanwhile you also save your stamina by dodging so you can break through their defences with ease. Dooku has very slow stamina and health recovery so use dodges to compensate for that. Save his lightening attack for Jedai like Luke and Yoda and Rey to catch them out when they use their lightsaber rush abilities.
Masterful duelist isn't worth it in trooper modes. The ability is already a 1 hit kill on 3/4 trooper classes without it, and the card still doesn’t make it a 1 hit kill on heavies, unless you hit them from behind while exposed weakness is active, or occasionally with the critical hit card. And both of those things are just too situational to be dependable
Hey I’m not very good at the game, however I do main Dooku in hvv and so far he is the only dark side duelist that can duel and win against Luke at least for me. They’re very similar in swing speed and I have taken down Luke and Anakin players of similar rank. I only lose because I kinda suck with consistency and patience, on top of the fact that my team is useless and is doing god knows what meanwhile the entire enemy team is on me. Kenobi is actually fairly easy for me to beat. His lightning can be good for getting aggressive players off of you, I just wait for them to start swinging and then I use my lightning and then I go on the offensive. Yet I see no use for expose weakness.
We need Darth Sidious too. He would have a lot of conversation voice lines with Dooku and Grievous and Savage Oppress and Asajj Ventress, plus Obi-Wan and Mace and Anakin and Plo Koon and Rex and Yoda
dooku is that guy that i always pick and play against as usually dooku players are great players and actually duel , not just sweat around with abilities like luke or worse ..Maul .. choke hold, spin saber throw run until get the abilities again.
If I’m gonna be honest A good Dooku player is second If not better than Vader The fact Dooku doesn’t get the highest of praise for being a high damaging lightsaber duelist it kinda sad I get grievous is good too but he pales in comparison to Dooku and Vader I’m a player that saves my strongest saber heroes for last And usually that’s Vader Playing with randos tho people take him immediately which I find a foolhearty move So if I don’t pick Vader then Dooku is my second for most strongest Because people don’t seem to choose him or underestimate his power a lot of the times So I’d call he and Vader equals
It really is sad that instead of Anakin being the main threat, it’s his son while he is not included the threats list. Vader is the only one who’s a threat to each and every hero while Anakin is left with his glitches and terrible stamina and stamina recovery.
My issue with Dooku is while he is a rounded hero, and an A1 duelist... as a CS main player, he is inferior for the most part to all the other 3 villians in the republic era... once Clone commanders were added (and not fixed before dice left) as well as Clone Jetpack troopers being the single most OP reinforcement class in BF2, in how much they cost, their damage output,, the buff that all jetpack users got that reduced their cool downs and still collecting 50%bp... Dooku just can't compete or close distance like Maul, GG, or Bossk can... It's Sad really.. I used to have alot of fun with him..
Congratulations. Great job on grinding your Dooku to whatever level you got him up to. I just finished maxing out my BB-9E, and that took me about 5 weeks so i know that it can take quite a while to max out a character in Battlefront 2. How long did it take for you to max out Dooku?

FYI, Exposed Weakess also removes bonus health, great against Yoda or enemy reinforcements
It's cooldown is also immediately reset if you kill the target you exposed
i found exposed weakness agenst yodas recently and even better agenst dash attack spammers realizing there taking damage
And it slows enemies great for fleeing blaster heroes or low health lightsaber heroes trying to relocate using the almighty high ground

I love Dooku because everything about him as in, stats, abilities etc. are pretty decent but when you put them all together he is really good.
You forgot to mention that dookus exposed weakness takes away buffs.

Expose Weakness is really underrated in HVV imo
Expose weakness and duelist make enemy heroes melt
More Stamina, crit strike and more health regen cards are my picks. The crit strike has clutched the win for me too many times to count.
The stamina card is so good over all too. it's a 70% combined reduction when blocking and attacking that's an extra 5 blocks or an extra 5 attacks.
19 attacks and/or blocks all up.
Also don't be just standing thea tho blocking/swing spamming.
Gotta use those dodges to get distance or to close or generally dance around your opponent.
The more they swing and hit nothing the more desperate they become.
Meanwhile you also save your stamina by dodging so you can break through their defences with ease.
Dooku has very slow stamina and health recovery so use dodges to compensate for that.
Save his lightening attack for Jedai like Luke and Yoda and Rey to catch them out when they use their lightsaber rush abilities.
Honestly I prefer dominance over initiative. 218 front dmg is just too nice.
Masterful duelist isn't worth it in trooper modes. The ability is already a 1 hit kill on 3/4 trooper classes without it, and the card still doesn’t make it a 1 hit kill on heavies, unless you hit them from behind while exposed weakness is active, or occasionally with the critical hit card. And both of those things are just too situational to be dependable

Hey I’m not very good at the game, however I do main Dooku in hvv and so far he is the only dark side duelist that can duel and win against Luke at least for me. They’re very similar in swing speed and I have taken down Luke and Anakin players of similar rank. I only lose because I kinda suck with consistency and patience, on top of the fact that my team is useless and is doing god knows what meanwhile the entire enemy team is on me. Kenobi is actually fairly easy for me to beat. His lightning can be good for getting aggressive players off of you, I just wait for them to start swinging and then I use my lightning and then I go on the offensive. Yet I see no use for expose weakness.
We need Darth Sidious too. He would have a lot of conversation voice lines with Dooku and Grievous and Savage Oppress and Asajj Ventress, plus Obi-Wan and Mace and Anakin and Plo Koon and Rex and Yoda
Wish you would still include a lunge range

whenever i play supremacy most of the time i just see “Count Dooku has been defeated”

dooku is that guy that i always pick and play against as usually dooku players are great players and actually duel , not just sweat around with abilities like luke or worse ..Maul .. choke hold, spin saber throw run until get the abilities again.
As a Maxed Out Dooku for Hero Game Modes I recommend Sith Control, Dominance, and Masterful Duelist so you could double down on damage.

A good Dooku player is second
If not better than Vader
The fact Dooku doesn’t get the highest of praise for being a high damaging lightsaber duelist it kinda sad
I get grievous is good too but he pales in comparison to Dooku and Vader

And usually that’s Vader
Playing with randos tho people take him immediately which I find a foolhearty move
So if I don’t pick Vader then Dooku is my second for most strongest
Because people don’t seem to choose him or underestimate his power a lot of the times
So I’d call he and Vader equals

Personally I find that Dooku is actually the perfect counter to Luke, one example is the fact that one hit with duelist active takes Luke past Regen.

It really is sad that instead of Anakin being the main threat, it’s his son while he is not included the threats list. Vader is the only one who’s a threat to each and every hero while Anakin is left with his glitches and terrible stamina and stamina recovery.
My issue with Dooku is while he is a rounded hero, and an A1 duelist... as a CS main player, he is inferior for the most part to all the other 3 villians in the republic era... once Clone commanders were added (and not fixed before dice left) as well as Clone Jetpack troopers being the single most OP reinforcement class in BF2, in how much they cost, their damage output,, the buff that all jetpack users got that reduced their cool downs and still collecting 50%bp... Dooku just can't compete or close distance like Maul, GG, or Bossk can...
It's Sad really.. I used to have alot of fun with him..
Well said - not only about dooku and his abilities in CS, but how OP the clone reinforcements are, and how so many players abuse them
You should also do updated guides for all of the classes and reinforcements
I use the extra stamina so then when I'm on the defensive I can party enemies successfully. Then I can go back on the offensive

Congratulations. Great job on grinding your Dooku to whatever level you got him up to. I just finished maxing out my BB-9E, and that took me about 5 weeks so i know that it can take quite a while to max out a character in Battlefront 2. How long did it take for you to max out Dooku?
Or grind him. Sorry you never mentioned you maxed him out, i must have just assumed that lol. Did you max him out, or just get him up to a specific level and how long did it take?
@@jurgsfisher583 i grinded him up to 500 and it took 2 weeks playing at least 1.5h a day and i go for kamino every time if possible

This is a really bad guide. The explanation of his abilities is fine but your guide on how to apply them is awful and will hurt new players trying to learn.
