I found this video informative since I am having P0016 and P0017 errors and it was diagnosed that it was my sprockets, also there is a noise coming from that area as well. I like how you mentioned the noise during startup as I was having this issue too. Thank you and any tips would be great. Including an easy way of taking the starter motor out,. I was going to remove the "Intake Manifold"
I enjoyed this video. I am working on my sprockets and I noticed that my camshafts (exhaust and intake) don't match. However the ends match per the shop manual once the crankshaft is locked with the special tool. Is this normal? In the shop manual, they show that each column is matching (column 1 is up, column 2 is down etc..) I hope this makes sense, I would drive to you but everything is torn apart and I live near Everett, WA in the States
Just had this happen to a 2014 evoque. The chain and guides were fine but the VCT was loose, it had play and the spring piece was broken off from what it looks like, had the infamous correlation code and the scope showed a timing issue as well.

how did you fix yours? mine has same error on Lr2 2014 2.0 turbo
@@creativearora need to replace the intake VCT, the miles were low on mine but replaced the chains, tensioner and guides as well.
Is there a serious issue if keep driving the LR2 with the start up noise?
I got this issue after replacing the water pump by the land rover service center, could this timing chain issue caused by this replacement?
