PART 2 of Tutorial on how to install a custom button on the center console of any Porsche Macan, Cayenne. Boxter, Cayman, 911 and Panamera for years 2010-2016 that have similar center consoles and buttons.
I installed a custom Escort Redline Radar detector Smart Cord Extension Cable amzn.to/2z4HcLw to be able to hide away the radar cigarette power cable and direct wire install the radar to my Porsche Macan.

I hated having the cigarette power cable hanging from the windshield so this allowed me to have a clean install, free up the cigarette lighter charger and have a more hidden profile for the radar.
In this Second part to the video I cover the actual installation, hardwiring and how to flush mount and hide the cables behind the firewall and interior trim.

That seems like a ton of work. I'm going to attempt to just mirror tap it instead. Worked great in my 911 but you it did require the homelink/auto dimming mirror
might be too late for this comment, but if you don't need the secret console indicator, the simplest way to hardwire the radar detector is by using the fuse panel as shown and running the cable from the fuse box using the gasket on the outside of the A-pillar and then to the headliner. No fuss, no damage. Takes 15 minutes. I have done it on two Q5s and one Macan. Lots of write-ups on this method.
Thank you for the video. Looks like you didn't need to disconnect the neg battery terminal to work on the car correct? I am needing to remove and re-install both sets of multi-switches. I was hoping to leave the battery connected as I don't want any fault codes or lost settings.
I didn’t have to because I wasn’t working with anything of high voltage. As long as you disconnect the ports for the buttons before you start working on them you should be good

Why? I mean it appears to work fine and he didn't do a terrible job or anything.
Way too much work and a chance of breaking trim$$ isn't worth it. I have put in secret switches before and would do it again here.
