- This is a short family cine film made by my father (Ted Edwards) in around 1960. It shows my mother, father and my elder sister when she was around 18 months old. At the time my father was in the Royal Navy and stationed at Plymouth in Devon. The family lived nearby on the banks of the river Tamar. I'm not sure where, but they could have lived on the Cornwall side of the river in Saltash, as I can remember my parents talking about Saltash.
Some of the film shows men working on the Tamar Road Bridge when it was being built. The bridge opened in 1961.
The rest of the film is a small snapshot of life during this era, the family and some other children, whom I'm guessing were neighbours.
Lovely film. Thanks for uploading.
