  • Cuts (rushes, out takes) for stories in Colour Pictorial - CP 387. The original stories are on Pathe Master tape *PM0183*.
01:15:49 to 01:21:28 cuts for story TAMAR BRIDGE in CP 387. Various shots of the construction of the Tamar Bridge, including some L/Ss taken from the ground of workmen precariously balanced at the top of the half-built bridge. Also there are some nice general shots of the men at work. There are also some stunning views from the top of one of the bridge's main columns and cables not used in the final version. Some shots of workmen larking about at the top of the bridge columns.
01:21:28 to 01:26:00 cuts for story LAND'S END AIRPORT in CP 387. Various shots of Land's End Airport, mostly very similar to the original story. There are, however, a few more shots of a small plane flying and aerial views of the coast not seen in the cut version. C/U of a small boy passenger on board the plane.

These guys did a great job. 40 years later we were able to add another roadway on each side of this structure and replace all of the deck with out closing the bridge. Incredible engineering and quality of construction!
