Actually it is possible to beat that last room in Bowser's Castle without pressing left. You just need to hit the hidden 1-up block with a Tanooki Leaf from the left side, crouch jump above it, and then you clip through the wall when you uncrouch!
I came to the comments to see if anyone else said this. It's a speed run strat.

I think there's a glitch that's used in speedruns that might help you in that last room. You would need to hit an invisible block from the side, though, and I'm not sure if that's possible. It might be.

This glitch would not work as you would hit the invisible 1-UP block, then go LEFT to get ejected out

There's an glitch in 3-Fortress that allows you to get to the Boom-Boom fight early by pressing up really fast after going in one of the doors. That would allow you to beat it leftless!
Yep, bowsers castle also has a wall clip glitch you can do to bypass that left area, 7-1 you can skip the entire interior portion with a wall clip as well, so it's possible without pushing left.
Ahh, I forgot though, these were removed in the SNES version, so you could beat the game without a left press on NES, not on the SNES though.

2:54 I mean...technically...if you love RNG or planning out frame-routes...it is possible for the bro with the hammer in world 2 to cross over to the left side. Although I don't remember if the chest spawns on the left side or not, so still may not be possible to clear world 2.

10:50 Oh right, the castle stair room...there might be a way to clear that. Take a tail, use it to hit the invisible 1-up at the top, then if you have enough height crouch on top of the block hop right, and stand up to phase through the wall. Super glitchy and highly unintended, yes. Technically possible...maybe?

That’s really sad we didn’t get to beat the game without pressing left I thought it was possible because super Mario Bros three is similar to the other Mario games but I guess it’s not also bad kitty but still this was a really good challenge and I’m still impressed on the performance even though we didn’t get to beat the game it was still pretty good thanks to the warp whistle’s honestly you should do more challenges like this but with other Mario games still pretty sad that it was impossible but still I really like This video anyways bye-bye I hope you have a good day

For the few problem levels, you could've used a jugem's cloud to skip them assuming you had one as long you didn't die in the following level.

You should've played the NES version since it has glitches that might allow you to get past "impossible" parts.
Regarding 2-3, you can clip into one of those blocks at the end, and hit the left Koopa to stay on that side of the pipe. It takes a precise jump and timing to avoid the shell, but I’ve done it by accident

@@somebodyoncerolledme7211 that's Mario 1 and Mario the Lost Levels they updated physics they kept the original same run jump physics on Mario 2 and Mario 3.

There is a invisible 1up block in 8- castle 🏰 11:00 so it is possible to beat smb3 without any left presses
