IT WORKED!!! someone in our neighborhood left a green Works 2200 PSI pressure washer on the curb without the pressure line. Borrowed my sons pressure hose from a different machine plugged it in and had the issue with the green light on the cord as you noted. Followed your instructions, turned the machine on and off a few times, pressed the button repeatedly over a period of 15 minutes or so of lyrical and error”. Just went on was about to give up and disassemble the machine to check connections. I noticed the green light on the cord was off as specified. Turned on the washer and SHAZAM!! it worked. Pressure washed bricks, driveway and sidewalks around my house for over an hour. It’s a $250 machine! Thank you so much for your posting. MADE MY DAY!😊
HALLELUJAH!! This guy have saved the day, I was having trouble with mines too, & yet mashed it down a millions and millions of times & yet it worked! Thanks for that YOU DESERVE SOME SUBS!! 🙏
My same Pressure Washer (PW) just stopped and I couldn't get it to start again. I had the same symptoms as you were. I did what you said and eventually after a lot of pushing on the reset button I heard something?? I then click the test button and the green light went out. I then clicked the reset button the green light went back on and the PW started working again. Your UA-cam was invaluable to me. Thanks for posting it. Saved about an hour waiting on Customer Support to answer and they probably wouldn't have given your solution. THANKS!!!!!!😀
Thank you! You just helped this first time user to "fix" my brand new pressure washer within the first minute of your video. I wasn't getting much pressure, but I thought it was because I didn't spend more money on a machine. But you just showed me that there is a breaker on the plug end of the power cord. I reset mine, pushed the ON button and my pressure washer sprung to life! Who knew it was supposed to make noise?? 😊
Your the man dude Totally works- mine wouldn’t rev if I had the nozzle on, so I held the trigger down without the nozzle and pressed reset indeed 45 times (it would rev while pressing it). Eventually cleared up!! Thanks!!
By golly this worked! I had to press reset over 100 times. Thought it wasn't going to ever buzz. But it did eventually. Thanks for this super useful life hack!
Thank you for your post! Saved me! Greenworks 2700psi worked fine yesterday, left it plugged in overnight (maybe something to do with it??) and wouldn't power up this morning. Followed what you did, got the buzz with the reset box, decided to unplug (different than your procedure), plugged back in, hit reset and BOOM! Worked!
This helped me so much with my pressure washer!!! Thank you so much for providing a informative repair methods on your channel and keep up the good work!!
Gotta admit that I had my doubts, but clicked the reset button like you said and wouldn’t you know- it worked!! Thanks. You saved me money and frustration. Thank YOU!!
The issue likely involves moisture collection internal to the afety reset switch. If you take an electric heat gun (i.e. hair dryer), and blow over the switch, it will remove the internal moisture within the safety switch, and then it will work fine. If you continue to simply push the reset, you will eventualky weaken the internal components of this safety device, and it will eventually completely quit working at all. Safety switches trip for a reason, and almost always due to moisture, use of the equipment on a GFCI protected electrical circuit, or having an inappropriate grounded home electrical circuit.
I had this same power problem, though, when my unit was brand new and not yet used; so, I don't think moisture buildup is the only issue. I had to set the reset button a couple dozen times before the unit worked.
Yes saved me also, I drained my hoses and it worked, I won't keep the hose connected after I use it any more, saved me a call to greenworks, big relief Indeed
This worked! My Teande only worked two times before dying, and this brought it back to life. Still not sure I'd recommend a Teande as it seemed to have this problem pretty quickly- but at least I was able to wash my cars - Thanks!
OK bro…..I have a Dewalt model and it was work so well I sold my gas model as I only need one….well guess what….day later the Dewalt stopped working. 😢…I just stumbled on your video and BINGO….🎉..after 35 resets the test button worked and I’m off to the races again…. Thanks my man❤
Hi Cameron, you explained my problem right to a T same as yours. I kept mashing the button, used the heat gun, and eventually it made that weird noise that you mentioned and Presto it worked. Thank you for your help.
Well I’ll be… this 100% worked! I had the exact same issue - my unit ran for about 5 mins, then shut off and refused to turn back on. It would only run for 2 seconds each time I pressed the Reset button on the cord. The Test button did nothing, the light was always green. So I went all old school video game button mashing on the Reset button and after what felt like 100 presses later the Test button finally worked to turn off the green light. After that the unit ran for the next hour with zero shut offs. Seems like a ridiculous fix but, for me, it totally worked. I thought the unit was headed for dump. I’ve had my unit for years… so long that I’ve had to replace the hose due to cracking and the wand due to rust / corrosion so I assumed it was finally dead but now it lives on thanks to this video 😊 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you!! I ended up holding both buttons down on the power chord and it cut the green light off allowing me to reset and everything was back working!!
Not sure if you or somebody here can help, but I'm getting the opposite. When I press the test button, the light stays on, and when I press the reset button, the light shuts off. Any suggestions other than throwing it in the dumpster?
Thanks Cameron!!! I fixed both of my Craftsman 2100 PSI electric Presure washers. I do not think those GFI's were ever working correctly. Cheers and Happy New Year!
I have the very same Greenworks unit, and this worked. I didn't count, but it felt like I hit that reset button about forty times before the green light went out. Thank you, sir.
(FIX)Had the same problem. Tried to mash the reset button and I got nothing. But I didn’t notice the test button wasn’t showing green on the light after 20 seconds. I wiggle the wire underneath the big box and sure enough it worked so I opened up the box (4 Philip’s head screws) and found my ground wire was completely disconnected from the connector. All you gotta do it re tighten down the ground wire and all should be good
OK Cameron it did work. Thank you very much. I did both things. I disconnected the nozzle on the pressure washer and then flip back-and-forth between reset and on and then it started working. Thank you I gave you a like and I subscribed that's the least I could do for you.
TRY THIS FIRST! Plug into a non gfci or arc fault protected outlet. The electronics in the plug can mess with the cord gfci. I plugged into regular outlet and all was back to normal.
Mine trip the house breaker that is 15 amp. I plugged it into a 20 amp 5500watt generator and it trips the generator breaker. This trip occurs every time I let the trigger go to stop the washer. Mine is a brand new unit.
Hi there I did mine the test but the light won’t off and it’s funny because I bought it on May and today August 26 I was gonna use it with no luck I reset it and tested but not working So I don’t know what to do
Dude I can't believe this really really worked!!!!! Hit the reset about 50 times and the motor started clicking. Before I was getting nothing and was about to trash it
Being a total noob, I didn't think to bleed the air out of the garden hose feeding the power washer. Of course, it didn't like that and I think that's the reason the motor kept turning off. After running the water without the pump for a while, the machine worked well. I have a power washer similar (same brand) as shown here. It appears to be important to make sure the feed hose (low pressure garden hose) is cleared of air before powering on the pump.
So I went to Lowe’s, bought a new wand and NOW the actual motor isn’t working (like what’s happened to you & probably everyone else watching this video). My motor was working before so now I’m going to just keep attempting what you have demonstrated until it begins working _or I formally lose my mind._ Whichever comes first. 🙏Hopefully the prior!
Pretty bummed. Mines doing the exact same thing but i pushed the reset button for literally 5 minutes straight. No buzzing sound no nothing. Looks like mines junk unfortunately.
It worked. Looks like there is corrosion inside the switch and you have to turn it on and off a bunch of times to get good connection. Unplug it. Plug it in. Light turns green and keep pressing reset and you’ll hear clicking inside. Once it doesn’t turn on again, unplug then plug in and repeat until you can press reset and it resets each time more than ten times. Then it works. Make sure your machine is off while doing this.
Here to report this worked too! Here’s what I did, and what happened initially: Situation: pressure washing just fine one morning and it stopped working; blue power light on the machine wouldn’t light up and the green light on the power cord box wasn’t on. If I plugged it into another outlet, the green light would come on but after 2 seconds it would shut off. This happened with 4 external outlets and one internal. Solution: as others said, I plugged it in, green light shut off, I pressed the reset button 100 times and nothing. Unplugged it and then plugged it back in and the green light came on, then off after 2 seconds. - Another 100 presses. No green light, so no blue light. - Unplugged and plugged back in, this time I hit the test button with the green light on in that first second, the green light turned off. Probably didn’t do anything but I wanted to note that. - I unplugged it, pressed the power button on the machine, plugged it back in and it revved on! I turned off the power button on the machine and the green light stayed on this time! I let it sit for a minute and it didn’t go out. I’m leaving it for 24 hours and will attempt to use it tomorrow morning, if it doesn’t work I’ll come back to edit my comment. Fingers crossed this also solved it for me! Thank you for this no-nonsense video to get us going!
I think, if there is a problem with the surge protector on the plug, I'd replace the plug with another surge protector. Because I feel smashing the reset over & over, like hitting a TV screen that keeps cutting out. Isn't a solution if the problem is still there. Cut the protector off, & add another protector on the wire. With reasonable water proofing to the cable & surge protector. My opinion to try. If it doesn't work, splice back on your original & everyone will know not what to do after that video experiment.
That thing is probably just a GFCI, Maybe you can cut it off and get a better one. Another way might be to cut it off and install a high quality plug and plug it into a GFCi protected outlet. The safety police won't like this, but if it was mine, I would just cut it off and install a good plug and use it. This is assuming that the pressure washer itself is not causing the problem.
I agree that this fixed my problem an after trying multiple things, but every time I use it it does this. Is there not a more efficient product? I get that they’re trying to save us from electrocuting ourselves, but how about telling us how to properly you know run the water out of it so that it’s ready to use the next time. Supposed to take 30 minutes takes two hours.
Reading some of the other comments my theory is corrosion or moisture in the switch, with enough presses it self cleans or dries out? Normally I would totally laugh off a “fix” based on just pushing a button multiple times but my unit came back to life after doing it. I tired multiple outlets too so it’s not a GFCI or amperage problem.
###!!! PLEASE READ: Mine has exactly the same problem, then I went a step further, think about the root cause would be the CFGI power plug somehow gets dirty, or rusted. So I went amazon got a $10 one to replace it. it works like charm. you don't need to click 100 times to clean up the rusted button
Standing in a puddle of water with a piece of electrical cord that is Continually blowing the gcfi circuit? This doesn't sound good to me. Anyone else hair go up on their neck? Lol

It WORKED! I was about to trash the pressure washer and buy a new one. You saved me some cash! Thank you!!!
Your the man dude
Totally works- mine wouldn’t rev if I had the nozzle on, so I held the trigger down without the nozzle and pressed reset indeed 45 times (it would rev while pressing it).
Eventually cleared up!! Thanks!!
Worked like a charm, took about 80 clicks, thank you so much
YT contributors like you save the day again!!! Thank you!!!

Worked!! Didn't have to wait for buzz. Just clicked reset repeatedly until "test" button worked. Thank you!!!
That was exactly what I needed. I didn't count how many times I pressed the button, but it was definitely at least 45. Thank you.
You saved me from buying a new pressure washer!Py problem was exactly the same as yours!Thank you for the video!
Gotta admit that I had my doubts, but clicked the reset button like you said and wouldn’t you know- it worked!! Thanks. You saved me money and frustration. Thank YOU!!

Worked for me! Granted I didn't have to do it too many times, probably only 5 or so, but this was a huge help!
after watching this video, the problem was solved, and I appreciated
I can’t believe it totally worked. Thank you so much.
Finally!!! You nailed it mine would run for a hot second then stop. Thank you for figuring it out cause I was about to put it to the street.
Worked big time. Thought it was dead. Thanks
It really worked lol! Thanks so
Much for the video.
Yes saved me also, I drained my hoses and it worked, I won't keep the hose connected after I use it any more, saved me a call to greenworks, big relief Indeed

what's it spose to do when u press test button??
That was very helpful. It fixed the issue.
Thank you!! I ended up holding both buttons down on the power chord and it cut the green light off allowing me to reset and everything was back working!!
It took two attempts, but it worked! Thanks
Mines is having problems with the soap dispenser area. I finally got the pressure washer working again but now i can't get the soap to come out
You must use the nozzle that works with the soap dispenser
This definitely worked thank you so much!
Happy to help!

Thank you brother. This has Ben driving me nuts. Good lookin out💪🏻
Aye i was having the same issue with a craftsman. I watched this video and it worked. It was like jump starting a car 😂. thank you !
I have the very same Greenworks unit, and this worked. I didn't count, but it felt like I hit that reset button about forty times before the green light went out.

It actually worked!! Thanks a million. Wonder what causes it
TRY THIS FIRST! Plug into a non gfci or arc fault protected outlet. The electronics in the plug can mess with the cord gfci. I plugged into regular outlet and all was back to normal.
I had an issue with mine. Just took apart the rocker power switch and cleaned it with alcohol and it started working.
agree with this , i used a heat gun air blow and ready
Any update ?

Mine doesn’t have that apparatus on the cord.
Wow, maybe for you friend's washer you press button 60 times and it will work. Amazing
Dude i have a ryobi and i think the gfci needs to be replaced. Thank you brother

Takes 6 days to tell a 5 minute story
You could have said that in the first 30 seconds.
Here I was thinking it only felt like 5 days. Har har.

Didn't work for me😢
I forgot to turn the water on before starting the electric power wash, and now its not workin'
somebody needs to explain why this works. makes no sense. glad it does work though

What causes the breaker to trip ?
never got to the buzzing sound pressed 1000 times so idk

as much effort you pit on the video, i never someone never get to the point that much
Please baby Jesus let this work for me!!!! BRB
Ohh my lanta it worked 😂😂😂 dude for real thanks I just watched another video that was 21 mins of no help you fixed mine in seconds
On another channel, a guy replaced that power switch to get it to work
Whatever works!
Ty
Cut the gfi end off and wire in a new plug end.The going end is too sensitive
