Hi .... This is Sonalika whose video you featured. We are indeed mother and daughter. Thank you for loving and appreciating the performance so much. Good wishes from us.🙏
That munchkin is a pocket sized miracle. She has such a large presence that she drew my eyes 85% of the time. I had to remind myself to watch mom too and her dancing was equally (at least to my untrained eye) good but the kid was drawing me in more.
Do you know Odissi was actually forgotten art? Unlike Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi or Kathhak. It was rediscovered my Pandit Kelucharan Mohapatra he and his first disciple Sanjukta Panigrahi are the reason why people know Odissi. Btw you should react to Manipuri dance as well. Very beautiful in my opinion ♥️

@Richa Verma honestly even we Indians cannot grasp. How many people actually know the Valmiki Ramayana and the Ved Vyas Mahabharat? Most know from serials which twist the stories or take from later adaptations. Even the old ones like Ramanand Sagar's one was based on Tulsidas and not Valmiki. But people belive those are the real versions. I was just joking. It would need a life time for them to reach that level.

India has a very rich culture with different dance formats of different places. Odissi is one of the greatest dance formats with its iconic costume and background music.
I love odisi dance in all classical dance forms... I mean, can't take my eyes off on the dancers... What a gracefully performance nd graceful classical dance it is...
It is very hard to master like any other indian classical dance but the little girl SHREENIKA does it with such beauty and grace exactly like her mother that too at such young age. It is truly AMAZING. If you want to see how amazing this little child is in showing different expressions like love, care, anger and many more in a single dance live, watch her solo dance 'performance at IIDF, Bhubaneswar, 2015' where the song tells an interesting story from Lord Krishna's childhood.
Lovely! Wish every family in India teach their kids Classical music and Dance. We are just focussed on Percentages and Tuitions !! I respect the southern states where it is considered almost as a worship and not just an art form. Salsa, zumba , Pumba 😒😒😑😑 All that can wait. Lets appreciate our Culture first!!
Performing classical dances and music is not going to bring "respect" in society only a 9 to 5 job can do that so why would anyone devote time to learning these art forms when they can just cram text books for 99% marks🤦🤦🤦🤦
@@platinumaravsquad2310 I know that. I was talking about the Southern states where Classical music is considered Godly. Do you think only YOU have seen the map of India? I know where Odisha is. Infact I can speak Oriya..!!!!
I'm from Odisha. Kids here learn Odissi at the age of 3-4. It's quite common here. You, very rightly pointed out at the hand movements. The first thing that kids are taught is those hand movements. That downward sitting posture that you talked about, takes years to master. Some people try and perfect that posture their entire life. It's too hard. Also, loved your reaction! ❤️
I started learning Bharathanatyam when I was 4 years old & like Rick pointed out, any classical dance form is about discipline & practice, without any break whatsoever. Its difficult but oh so rewarding! To be able to express oneself and the beauty of a song or poem through your body is an exquisite feeling. The mother-daughter duo were such a pleasure to watch! ❤️💕👍👌👌
