  • We tend to get ticked off when hit with high credit card fees and charges but don't do anything about them.
Bad move, says Lending Tree's Matt Schulz. "People have more power over their credit card issuer than they realize, and oftentimes all they have to do is pick up the phone and ask for a break."

25% is ridiculous and 19% isn't much better. Unless you are paying off your card each month, and mostly using it for convenience or to track business expenses, paying an extra 20-25% for goods and services (in interest) isn't wise. Credit is just a trap that keeps people in debt. Pay off cards and live within your means. In the long run that extra 20-25% of your income can be used to meet your financial goals.

This advice did not help me one bit. I called my credit card and asked for a lower interest rate. I was denied with a flat out NO! Even asking for a supervisor was told No, so i closed the account. And was very upset after the call.
    This advice was garbage!

LMAO @ carrying credit on credit cards.
But Well, I guess those of you that are, are the ones helping keep the banks profitable enough to allow the rest of us to enjoy all of these credit card bennies & spiffs and stay in good standing, even though we never pay one cent in interest .
    So….THANK YOU!
