      You wouldn't regret either one, but both just depends on the power goal. You can always go smaller AR (.63 vs my .82) on the 3076 and spool would be like stock 1J turbo.

    Sick build man. I've been debating on getting a pulsar turbo and I think this seals the deal for me. I haven't heard anything bad about them. I'm going to get their g30-770. Stock block 1jz vvti, 264 cams, hoping for 600hp!

    • @Touring_Low
      @Touring_Low  3 роки тому +3

      Yea I weighed my options and when I told my fabricator about them he said he had yet to hear anything negative on them so I said why not 🤷🏾‍♂️. This turbo is capable of 650 at the wheels (750 crank) if I wanted to but I don't wanna push the motor to it's limits. Hell I could have hit 500+ on pump gas but I wanted to leave room for E85, 550 was my goal which I got. It's plenty fast for me as is and I have no complaints.
      You can also look at the GTX3576 gen 2 from Pulsar, those have a T4 housing option cuz my 3076 is a T3. I have no issues with T3 but a lot of my fittings are in a tight spot to get a wrench or socket in, shoot even the drain line was a pain (had to use a 45⁰ AN10 fitting) without the line touching the manifold.

    Couple questions dude. But first, absolutely great build man!!!
    Do you have a build list and when does your boost come on, in the RPMs?
    My goal on my Chaser is 500whp/500wtq on pump gas if possible.
    Bout to install a Pulsar 3071 but currently have a 3582 that I don't like.

    • @Touring_Low
      @Touring_Low  5 місяців тому +1

      Thanks man. I need to post up updated vlog of the car as it's changed from this setup now.
      The build list engine wise was bone stock in this vid, only thing I did was just your regular timing belt and seals service and upgrade pump (AEM 340),1000cc injectors, 1ZZ/1NZ coil on plug conversion.. 500hp is achievable on pump gas as I made 466hp/450tq on this same tune/boost. I can't remember exactly what rpm full boost kicks in, but I want to say it's between 4000-4500rpm for sure (I'd have to look at my vids on the track to verify). I even got retuned late 2022 after making a couple of changes (fueling wise) and it picked up more torque which made this thing spin easily rolling from 3rd gear.

It also helps being around friends who have performance shops and also picked their brain on certain things. Funny enough, I blew this 1J exactly 1yr ago today (3/10/23) on my way home after multiple runs at the track that night. Head lifted, detonated a piston (cracked) and blew the HG in the process. I was running 27psi at that time (unknown power levels due to street tune). Now I'm 1.5J fully built engine.

    Sweet setup man! Was wondering how the drive ability of the car is with that .96 rear housing and with the pulsar turbo in general?
    I’m tempted to upgrade to the top mount manifold and run maybe a newer turbo as well but didn’t want to sacrifice response.
    I have a similar setup but put some LAME numbers down today, nowhere near what yours were even on pump sadly. My tuner told me with a manifold upgrade like the one from Daryl that the car would easily gain like 50whp or so just due to the fact that the stock manifold sucks apparently for flow.

    -Garrett gt3076 .63
    -stock manifold w/ tail Wastegate

    • @Touring_Low
      @Touring_Low  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks man. I don't have a . 96 AR, I'm running an . 82 but driveability is great with little to no lag (but obviously nothing like stock). I like the Pulsar turbo,I had to basically get a cosign from my fabricator about them and he said he's never heard anything negative on them.
      My cars my daily driver, I kid you not. On my pump gas tune I average around 18mpg (14mpg on stock turbo). The .82 AR housing starts to spools up around 2800 RPM and I get full boost (22psi) around 4.2k RPM.
      I was almost close to reusing the stock manifold with the adapter I saw on eBay and welding a waste gate on top but my fabricator essentially swayed me away from going that route. But yea a good manifold will help you with spool/power. The .63 AR housing you're using is very good for quick spool from that I heard but sucks for top end power, many people suggested .82 AR which is why I went that route and I don't regret it.
      Edit: if you wanna gtmet the pulsar turbo, try to PM their sales rep Ava on IG (@psr_pulsarturbo) she might be able to get you a little discount or free shipping
