Car is a 1991 Toyota Soarer
1JZ Non-VVTi
Borg Warner S200-SXE 57mm
Custom 3.5" into twin 2.5" exhaust
R154 gearbox
MCA coilovers, Whiteline swaybars, all new bushes etc...
Microphones are Rode Lavalier GO (wired) with wind socks/deadcats.
Sounds so fireeee!! Turbo sounds make everything better in life.

I could watch this all day.There are no roads like that in Texas. I miss living in the Bay Area in Summer 2019 when I worked at Pixar. Beautiful scenery and the most amazing place I had ever been to. I have a stock 2016 Genesis Coupe 3.8. I always would have liked to learn how to drive manual. I have been research the Lexus SC300 recently as well. I wonder if I could go to driver's school to learn manual.
It’s not that hard to learn manual, just look up tutorials on UA-cam, I learnt when I was 11

No, it's a Borg Warner S257SX-E
The exhaust is custom, but can you tell me a little more about it? I want my 171 to sound like this. Stainless/titanium, how many mufflers ect ect
6boost T4 tubular manifold (this made a huge difference to sound), turbo rear housing is 0.83.
From there it's a 3.5" dump into 3" front pipe, 100 cell cat, then splits into twin 2.5" pipes just before the diff, and then ends with 2x Magnaflow 14236 mufflers with 4" tips (1 per side as its twin exit). Whole system is stainless.

Thanks, hub is HKB cruise control version for Soarer without airbag. Wheel is Nardi Deep Corn 350mm blue stitch.
Is there any drone with your exhaust inside the cabin? I have a jzs171 with 2 hotdogs and a magnaflow muffler and its horrible at around 100 kms and i dont know what to do at this point
none at all man, the big (compared to stock) single turbo made it a lot quieter!

can you hear the turbo in the car as much as you can on video, or did you place the mic in the engine bay? Cool setup. Also sounds like no BOV?
The mics are in the engine bay and at the exhaust, can still hear plenty of turbo noise in the car though. No BOV.

I'm hearing a lot of turbo people just run compressor surge these days. Are companies building stronger compressor wheels to handle the surge now?
Off throttle "surge" is not destructive when compared to on-throttle surge (which is much more damaging as the turbo is under load)

No BOV, mic is about 20cm from intake filter
Also what two mics are you using that don't have distortion

It has a turbosmart 50mm gate but it's routed back into the exhaust. Keeps cops away and I prefer the sound of no screamer pipe!

Yep, twins died so did the single conversion - been on the stock ECU with the single for 2+ years now

Not much haha! Stock ecu and had a blocked cat in all my videos. I haven't done another one since but car will be getting a Haltech ecu soon! And I fixed the cat lol
