My Immunotherapy Cancer Treatment Explained! (Keytruda) - Amanda | Rare Cancer | The Patient Story

Amanda is currently undergoing an immunotherapy called Keytruda. In this cancer vlog, she describes how her immunotherapy for cancer works, how long the treatment is, and the side effects.
After going through two rare cancers, Amanda was most recently diagnosed with extra ovarian primary peritoneal carcinoma. She started feeling fullness/pressure in her pelvis and scans eventually revealed a grapefruit-sized mass in her pelvis, with part of it being a solid tumor. After surgery to remove the mass, the pathology revealed her diagnosis as extra ovarian primary peritoneal carcinoma, which is a rare gynecologic cancer.
Amanda is in full remission, but she will continue on the immunotherapy for another year.

Canadian here who’s also on immunotherapy; mine is following a diagnosis of Stage IV non-Hodgkin’s. Had some chemo, and am now doing immunotherapy because my body now has no working immune system. Once a week, I do the infusion myself at home (vs once a month in hospital). Not sure if it’s the same therapy as Amanda’s, but it’s definitely tolerable with few side effects.

I just heard her say that she has Lynch syndrome. That explains why she's been getting multiple rare cancers. I wish her good luck going forward.
