I am trying to put the deck back on now. Is there only tension in the belt when the deck is engaged? I have no tension in belt after putting it back together and it doesn’t seem right
@@JohnsonsSmallEngines belt came loose when I took deck off to weld the guide wheel back on. It came loose on the pulley that is underneath the plastic shroud. So I didn’t see it. All good now and cuts great! Thanks again for your help. Where is your business located?
Hello. I have a john deere L100, 42 inch deck, can I put on a 48 inch deck? I do not know what JD unit it came from. Brackets front and back look the same but I have no idea where to attach the blade engagement cable.
I would need to see a picture of your 48” deck (top view) to be able to see if it will work. I do not get into replacing mower decks with other mower decks. Send me a picture.
I'm glad it was helpful and thank you for the kind comment. Please give this video a like, subscribe if you haven't already and share my channel to help it grow. It would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for watching.
@@JohnsonsSmallEngines Thanks. I'm going to tale my deck to a welding shop, and I'll have to throw it in the trunk of my car. I'm worried about brackets getting bent. If I can just pop two bolts it's less of a headache keeping parts aside while waiting to get my deck back from the shop, and I won't have to remember the assembly sequence. My plan is drop the front suspension bar and remove the cable (just like you did) then pop the two bolts on the yellow verticals and be done with it. Thanks for your reply. 👍

I have a craftsman pro 8200 v-twin riding mower. How do you change the throttle cable?? Do you have a video for that.

There should be no tension until you engage the blades.

@@JohnsonsSmallEngines just sharpened the blades and welded my guide wheel back on the deck. Now she’s good to go.
My mower doesn't have the metal brackets that hold the belt. Is there a parts number for that?
To look up parts for your model click this link. partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/
Can you just remove the bolts from the yellow verticals and leave all clip on stuff with the tractor?
I'm sure you can but it is easier to take clips off in my opinion.
