I just pull the plug from the base to turn it off. If they made the switch close to the base or like you mentioned on the rear would solve lots. For the money the Mini Alpha and Alpha U are the best bang for buck and does everything right. Whish the software would be better and they need to add profile sharing like Simucube
@simracingenthusiastreviews can only get better as it's not terrible its great just not perfect like most things. Really hyped to see where Simagic goes next every item they release is amazing
I have the switch mounted on the post to the left of the wheelbase - very convenient. Maybe more so than on the base (keep saying it and it will come true ;) I like the ecosystem too. It's the only DD I've had (alpha mini). I don't even use max torque in games and it beats me up.
This base has blown my mind and imo is also the best looking base on the market haha. I love the piece on the shaft also idk what it is something about the look. Also the wheels omg simagic wheels are insane. Imo people downplay the simagic still and imo it actually feels slightly better now then simucube. It feels so fluid and just good. Also the best quick release in the game. The reason default feels so good now is because they use real drivers and sim users with inssne experience to set them up as default. Also real drivers do use simagic lol There is something special about simagic now there software has made this thing feel so much better over the years that it's mind blowing. 😊 Also just so people know yes many pro drivers use simagic now.
I ise samsung g9 and I love it. My wife was affraid that it was too big but it turned out to be one of the more beautiful things in living room. I have fov around 110degrees and I adore it. 240hz also make things much more smooth. I surely will make a review of it.
Thanks for the review it was very informative! I have an Alpha for 1 month now, I use it at 12 NM, I wonder if the Alpha U also set at 12 NM there would be a difference in the details of the FFB. Looking forward for more review videos!
my dd1 has grounding issues causing my nice wheels to lose connection. I just ordered this one. I was between this and the sc2 pro. I chose this for price to performance out of the 3 (simucube, asetek, simagic)
@@bschalker i think you made a good one.. No EMI issues, and you remember that feeling of steps with it even powered on.. well that is gone, and ffb is MUCH smoother, it was a big upgrade after using a dd1 for 5 years.
@@bschalker its something im glad i did even though i didnt want to, i didnt know what i was missing.. and its enough to warrant the expense at the end of the day.
Been looking into upgrading my g27 for a while, tbh simagic is the only one that ticks my boxes from what I've seen. Simucube and asetek both scored down for me on the qr mechanism, was not a fan. Moza are interesting, however i prefer the ecosystem of simagic and the small form factor base. The only thing i wish we would see is an end to this charge what we like and can get away with era, seeing prices dropping across the board, especially with the higher end products. Range prices something like 250-800 for bases and 40-400 for wheels. (40 just being plain blank to swap) Seriously the prices some are charging for items regardless of quality and materials is still astronomical in my eyes 😱😭 Doesn't stop me saving for that alpha u though 🤦♂️🤣
Hi, is Alpha and Alpha U the same in terms of spec? With Alpha just being not as strong as Alpha U? Or is there any other differences between them? Thanks
I chose Simucube becouse its known for being working anytime, but back in the days the market wasnt so big. Alpha U is very good and You get a lot of pretty wheels in their ecosystem.
Yes it's almost idnetical to nrg. Still different due to it being an wheelbase and the connection pins but its the closest one and designed based on it. Its also all high wailing and metal unlike moza internals.
@@simracingenthusiastreviews Cheers. I don’t mind paying more if there’s a tangible difference. I checked the specs. Cpu, encoder resolution is the same. Nothing about slew rates unfortunately.
In ACC Is the ultimate at 60% in game equal to the Mini at maximum ?? I tested the ultimate today at 35% and feel like the CSL 8nm. And it works out as 8nm from 23nm at 35% So by that logic the ultimate at 60% should feel like Mini at 13nm, which was very strong for me Can you shed some light for me as I want to decided ??
Nah. You cant compare them like that. Ultimate has better acceleration. Every base stronger tends to accelerate better. Its called slew rate and it seems to be connected.
The ultimate at 60% will feel stronger then the mini at 100% for one it won't clip for two the motor is stronger in general so the center forced and torque will just feel stronger. People seem to confuse this as it doesn't work the way you are thinking. So it's going to give you more detail, more power and more speed all at the ssme settings the mini would be at max but without any of the clipping or detail loss.
Have you tried the p1000? Considering this base with the 1000 instead of the 2000. Hoping they work out the issues with the 2.0 software. It feels like this might be a great time to hop on the simagic train.
saw your P1000 video and reply there. The 2.0 version of the software is now out but looks buggy so far (per the simagic subreddit)@@simracingenthusiastreviews
I just purchased the Alpha U and the supporting cast. I can't wait for it to arrive :) Your review got me even more excited
Great video man! I’m mad UA-cam wouldn’t show me this video when I searched for reviews of the alpha u. UA-cam’s search is so broken 😞
YT and me… we still dont know too much anout each other. I try more then YT does :p
Because he doesn't have review in the title or description

Hi. I already have Alpha Ultimate. Do I still need to upgrade to simucube 2 pro? Really want to know how difference between these two bases
Nah, Its not that big of a difference. If Youd have Alpha then yes but U ist good enough.
@@simracingenthusiastreviews thank you very much. Appreciate ur help
Awesome Video. I pick up my Alpha U tomorrow. Upgrading from the Alpha.

I just bought one. It is sitting in the box, waiting for a Sim Lab Simagic DD adapter to arrive.
hi fantastic Review
In your opinion going from a fanatec DD1 to a Alpha U will it be a real Upgrade ?
Thank you again for the review
Id say gigantic one. Better ffb, qr.
my dd1 has grounding issues causing my nice wheels to lose connection. I just ordered this one. I was between this and the sc2 pro. I chose this for price to performance out of the 3 (simucube, asetek, simagic)

Thank You very much. Ill do my best with next ones!
Hi, nice review. So would you choose this Simagic Alpha U 23nm or Asetek Forte 18nm ? which would it be ? 🙂
Simucube sport. Amd if only those two - Simagic

Hhaha gotcha! Exactly. Prices are a bit absurd and I do really hope they will drop eventually.
Hi, is Alpha and Alpha U the same in terms of spec? With Alpha just being not as strong as Alpha U? Or is there any other differences between them? Thanks
They are two different bases. In terms of size they are not that different but talking about performance Ultimate is superior
So would you choose this or the simucube pro? If you could have 1 of them for your sim, which would it be?
I chose Simucube becouse its known for being working anytime, but back in the days the market wasnt so big. Alpha U is very good and You get a lot of pretty wheels in their ecosystem.
Right now Id choose the fastest one - not the strongest but the one that accelerates the best.
@@simracingenthusiastreviews If you had to choose today, having used them both, would you choose SC 2 Pro or Alpha U?
Is the quick release same as an NRG? What about the connection from base to computer what is that?
Yes it's almost idnetical to nrg. Still different due to it being an wheelbase and the connection pins but its the closest one and designed based on it. Its also all high wailing and metal unlike moza internals.
hi! have you already looked at the alpha 15? cheers!
Have you tried vrs directforce pro?
No I havent had a chance. Though Im looking forward to it.
just got my alpha u few days ago currently doing everything and more i wanted it to
I liked it a lot! Have fun!
Alpha or Alpha U?
Anything major missing besides torque?
If budget is not important go for U - it will be more timeproof and probably will have better slew rate.
@@simracingenthusiastreviews Cheers. I don’t mind paying more if there’s a tangible difference. I checked the specs. Cpu, encoder resolution is the same. Nothing about slew rates unfortunately.
It looks like they adapted an industrial servo motor.
Little known fact. SIMAGIC are one of the few brands that do not use off the shelf motors. All are customized. Founder is a motor engineer btw.
@@wangte27 That explains a lot, nice stuff.

As soon as you said “made in China” I made my decision to go with Simucube. Thanks for the review.
the moment he said its not a pratical qr and old wifi antennas i switched to the alpha u
