I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (April 2, 2023), Luke 24:1-12 was the basis for our Sunday School Lesson of the Day. It was entitled "The Empty Tomb." The hymn, "Come, You Faithful, Raise the Strain," is a good hymn to compliment this Scripture.

I wonder if their eyes being opened after he broke the bread has anything to do with Lk 22:19 when he broke the bread at the last supper saying doing this in remembrance of me, because it seems like the breaking of bread suddenly caused them to remember/recognize him.
