As a Pole living in the UK it makes me proud of both nations for being so vocal about Ukraine's conflict from the very beginning, supplying weapons and intelligence and many more. Evil prevails when good men do nothing. As an US Army combat vet I see this as war worth fighting. I'm tempted, seeing men like this just going cause its the right thing to do. UK are putting forward a ban on ex military or volunteer fighters from NATO. going to Ukraine. As I am ex military I was a bit peeved as I planned to go until i heard the reasons, one being. If a British volunteer is captured or a body recovered Putin will see this as proof of an escalation in the west and it will step the war up a level. He is likely to say we are covertly sending forces into Ukraine and put his forces onto a higher level of international readiness . Ukraine has enough boots on the ground, what they do not have are enough infantry weapons. They dont have enough for their own troops. A friend of mine who i was going to meet up with has so far been filling sand bags and has been told thats all he will be doing, they are still very grateful for his help . Evil prevails when good men do nothing. As an US Army combat vet I see this as war worth fighting. I'm tempted, seeing men like this just going cause its the right thing to do. I can't pull my brain away from this conflict. Seeing the fighting spirit of the Ukrainian soldiers is inspiring. They deserve global support on that alone. The things I've seen as far as Russian operations, it's pretty insane, the ABC's of combat operations seem to be absent.

As a British soldier for 16years I find it worrying that these people think they can fight a war without any training. Been a soldier isn’t a job you can just walk into and be good at it.
I don’t think they care - they just want to help and are willing to give themselves to help.

UK are putting forward a ban on ex military or volunteer fighters from NATO. going to Ukraine. As I am ex military I was a bit peeved as I planned to go until i heard the reasons, one being. If a British volunteer is captured or a body recovered Putin will see this as proof of an escalation in the west and it will step the war up a level. He is likely to say we are covertly sending forces into Ukraine and put his forces onto a higher level of international readiness . Ukraine has enough boots on the ground, what they do not have are enough infantry weapons. They dont have enough for their own troops. A friend of mine who i was going to meet up with has so far been filling sand bags and has been told thats all he will be doing, they are still very grateful for his help . They need heavy weapons not extra soldiers. Good luck to all our ex military fighting for Ukraine. I dont think it will be too long before you get armed and put on a front position, God Bless...proud of you all.......
