AS a Navy combat medic in Vietnam I wish you the best in safety. I am now 71 years old and 72 in December this year 2022, I look back at my tour in Vietnam and felt great knowing that I helped made a difference. To all the combat medics, be safe you are the angel to all those that you save. If I see a injured person, won’t hesitate as a first responder to provide help. Once a medic always a medic. The Oath I took to do no harm runs deep. When other run from trouble, medic run to danger.

I am person born in Poland 1984 as a kid I dreamed to fight in ww2 defending Poland or in Vietnam war because that was last war where you had modern equipment like helicopter support but still battleships provided fire cover , but when i was teen I got bit smarter and I just could not imagine to go for 12 months of conscription , I ended up skipping military service all tougether ... but now 2022 when putin started war , and war is close to Polsish border and there is risk of war , I would leave Sweden where I live now and "fight" as best I can , medic that is good idea , but there is one most important "combat" post that is most importat in war ... logistic , I have driver licence so I would do that as food, fuel&TP are as important as 5.56 ...

Hello. I'm from Ukraine. The Legion does not take everyone in a row. You are an experienced fighter or have to pass tests. If you have no experience, you will not be accepted in 9 out of 10 cases. Basically, everyone is broken by fear. The real explosions are not what you see on TV. And training on the range is now very tough, with explosions and shots.
I also want to dispel the pro-russian myth that Legionnaires are thrown away like meat. This, of course, is a lie. Even if you are an experienced fighter, you will not get to the front until you have been trained in a formed group to coordinate and understand your brothers in arms. And this takes about 1 month.

@@XionTRAXthat’s for the best. These poor kids are disillusioned with the decadence and degeneracy of the west men are seeking purpose and brotherhood under the chill of death’s shadow. If you don’t think your are being targeted with social media to build a psychological profile to be a mercenary, slave and prostitute. Look after your children, mentor the young men so they don’t go seek the rites of manhood in the empire’s wood chipper. Both sides are disposing of “excess” populations like the men of action, criminals and those who seek a true collective identity but also those who need mental therapy and a purpose in their community. Stop letting your brothers die for the banksters. War kills the morality of man, consider all the kids who grew up without fathers in the wake of WW2 or those whose fathers had PTSD so bad they drank and beat the kids. Then there are the women and children left without their husbands, brothers, etc. when this occurs society is run by those who are either incompetent or psychopaths. We’re basically a rudderless ship doing 20 knots towards a wall.

I noticed lots of people are calling the medic a “liability”. The man did not go to Ukraine for glory or wanting to kill. He’s going there to help people as a medic, whether the casualties are military or civilian. Personally, I think he’s brave and has a good heart. Even combat veterans were inexperienced or “green”, at some point. Most of the Ukrainian armed forces probably didn’t have combat experience either, until Russia invaded. I pray that the medic and everyone fighting for Ukraine will stay safe and one day return to their families.

And while he said that he had respect and allegiance to the United States the main reason why he joined the military was to continue his Warrior heritage and ensure that his tribe had capable Fighters. And then there was an interview with a African from the country of Chad who stated that he joined the French Foreign Legion because he wanted to return to his own country's military with modern training and tactics experience to share.

She evokes pragmatism and efficiency. OTOH, Kapon has good intentions but he’s worrisome to me. I believe that he will need close supervision until he sheds his naïveté. Also that you continue to make videos on this very important theme. I was absolutely gripped. You did well! The volunteers did GREAT! May they all live and return home one day. This is a savage war and it is quite something to volunteer to endure what they are enduring. I would urge your interviewees to make video or voice recordings whenever possible, recounting their experiences - video diaries. The rest of us who are so terribly sad about what has happened to Ukraine, and who feel so strongly the love of the principles as to why the war must be fought, will value hearing their personal experiences as foreign fighters.

Still from the interview you can see that he wants to help in any way he can. Be it on the front or behind lines working with civilians. His main objective is not to kill but help using his skills as a medic.
As for combat medics that is just part of war. They wear an uniform because they represent that faction and of course they would treat their brothers in arms before an enemy.
I disagree that he is less of a humanitarian because he chose to help/fight only for one side. Becuase the side he is fighting for is the one being attacked. He is there to help defend and save lives.

Though i got to admit, actually "defending" something on your own soil lends a lot of credibility to the argument. Unfortunately people of other nations can not really use that justification to get involved. yh, because they're not gonna advertise those bad for pr. While some are really there to help, others are there merely as mercenaries, whether it s for money or blood.

@O Lee they're mercenaries if paid, so yh they're mercenaries.
But just wanted to separate those who went there merely for a job and those who went there to help a cause they believe in.

Ukraine is not going to exist anymore very soon. That was your choice people of ukraine including oleksandr, you could be good friends and neighbors to Russia, who did so many good things for your country. But people of ukraine decided to sell themselves and their country to the west and go against Russia. Almost all territory of ukraine used to be Russian territory, so Russia would just take it all back.
