It’s not just about Sinhalese treating Tamils unfairly; discrimination exists within our own Tamil community too. Many Tamils treat fellow Tamils differently based on caste, religion, or where they’re from. In my experience, I’ve often felt more respected by Sinhalese than by our own Tamil leaders and those in power who should be representing us. We need to recognize and address all forms of discrimination, both from outside and within, to truly move forward as a united society.

இளைஞர்களே! தமிழ் தேசியம் பேசுபவர்களுக்கே தேசியம் என்றால் என்னவென்று தெரியாது. அவர்கள் எவ்வாறு அதனைக் கூறமுடியாது. தேசியம் என்றால் தேசம் என்று பழைய அரசியல் வாதிகள் கூறுகிறார்கள். அவ்வாறாயின் தமிழ் தேசியம் என்றால் தமிழ் தேசிய தனி தேசம் ஆகும். இதுவேதான், ஒரு நாட்டிற்குள் தமிழ் காங்கிரஸ் ஆட்சி, தமிழரசு ஆட்சி, ஈழம், தனிநாடு, தமிழ் ஈழம், இதுவரை காலமும் அரசியல் வாதிகள் மாறி மாறி மக்களிடம் கூறி மக்களை எமாற்றி கதிரைகளில் அமர்ந்தனர். இதுவரை தேர்தல்களில் தமிழ் தேசியம் பேசப்படவில்லை. ஆயினும் 2024 தேர்கலில் மக்களை ஏமாற்ற ஒரு புதிய சொல் அறிமுகப்படுத்த வேண்டியது அவர்களின் கட்டாய நிலைமை. தமிழ் தேசியம் என்ற சொல், தமிழ் மக்களால் 2024 தேர்தலில் மக்களால் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளப்படவில்லை. ஏனெனில் தமிழ் தேசியம் என்பது ஈழம், தமிழ் ஈழம் தனிநாடு என்பதற்கு ஒப்பான சொல் என்பதால் மக்கள் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளாது , தமிழ் தேசியம் பேசிய கட்சிகள் அனைத்தையும் புறக்கணித்து, இலங்கை ஒரு தேசம் . ஒரு நாட்டு மக்கள் தேசிய மக்கள். இதுவே தேசிய மக்களின் சக்தி என்பதை புரிந்து அனுரவின தேசிய மக்கள் சக்தியை ஆதரித்தனர். தேசியம் என்பதற்கு 4 மாத அரசியல் குழந்தை கூறும் வரைவிலக்கணம், தேசியம் என்பது இதயத்தில் இருந்து வரும் உணர்வு. அதாவது அது தேசம் சார்ந்தது அல்ல. அது இனம், மதம், மொழி ஆகிய அனைத்தும் சார்ந்த உணர்வு. பழைய அரசில்வாதிகள் கூறுவது போல் தேசியம் என்பது தேசம் என்றால், 75 வருடங்களாக ஒன்றாக இயங்கிவரும் இந்தியா எத்தனை தேசிய நாடுகளாக பிரிந்திருக்க வேண்டும். இலங்கை தமிழ் பழைய அரசியல் வாதிகள் அரசியல் அறியா முட்டாள்கள். யாரோ ஒருவன். 16/11/2024

Sinhala nationalism is already being rejected by new generations. All we need is to live freely doing our own thing. We support everyone to live freely speaking their language, practicing their religion and culture freely. We support same rights for every citizen. What else someone need other than that? I think the only thing public need is this. If someone is trying to manipulate you for something other than that, they are playing politics. This is true for both north and south. Former President Mahinda tried to create doubts in Sinhalese towards Muslims, but he went to Masjid and prayed with them when he needed votes. Once you stop thinking about having a piece of the country, the whole country itself is yours. If we all have same rights despite our nationality, what else you need. I believe only NPP with Anura can make this change. Praying for the best.

How can you ensure that future politicians will not commit the same stupidity? Right to self determination is not separation. For example, Every person in marriage relationship has the right for divorce/separation. But, it doesn't mean that they should live separate or get divorce. If every member in a family is respected, they have no reason to lose the family bonding. Same logic can be applicable to nations inside a sovereign country. We Tamils suffered the discrimination by the successive government in colombo. So, We want some legal protection/arrangements to escape such discrimination in the future. We Tamils believe if our right to self determination is accepted and incorporated inside the constitution of Sri Lanka, nobody will dare to discriminate. We want right to self determination, it doesn't mean We are going separate or We are against Sinhala people. We want Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim and other SriLankans to live in harmony with happiness, respect and dignity. Tell you frankly out of my best friends at work place for the last 25 or more years, two are Tamil speaking. Of them, one follows Christianity and other one follows Hinduism. Three others are Christians and another three are Buddhists. Those are the very close friends on whom I've 💯% confidence & trust. In my opinion when there is no opportunity for us to mix with different ethnicities, OR Cultural backgrounds we loose OR are unable to to build trust with each other. Dirty politicians/rulers exploit this situation for their own benefit not only in Si Lanka even in India and all over the world. People in the comment section spreading hatred may belong to a dying political party, or might be living in Canada, Switzerland or US living their best life experiencing all the luxuries. And in their free time they comment here and spread hatred. Once the election us over, they'll mind their own business and old tamil politicians will be enjoying MP luxuries while the voters live in same hell as usual. People are already tired of elections. 13A means another around of elections after local body elections. Meaning srilankan would have regular elections. So provincial councils with 9 provinces is unsustainable. Also NE is deserted . Most people live in Colombo ( only vote in NE) or migrated to western countries. Ofcourse tamil people suffered a lot in the past . But in the current demographic scenario, Indian style federalism is unsustainable for a small country like srilanka.
Countries like Belgium and Switzerland demonstrate that federalism works very well in small countries. It’s not size but the diversity of a society that calls for a federal approach. Unitary approach in a multi-ethnic country result only in majority rule.

வணக்கம், யாரும் தவிர்க்க முடியாதவர்கள் என்று ஒருவர் இல்லை. மக்கள் நலனுக்காக ஒவ்வொரு செயலிலும் புதிதாக யோசிக்க வேண்டும். கட்சியில் சட்ட வல்லுநர்கள் இருப்பது நல்லது. ஆனால் இருக்கும் சட்டவல்லுனரால் கூட, சிறிய பிரச்சினைகளுக்காக நீண்ட காலமாக நீதிமன்றத்தில் இருக்கும் இலங்கைத் தமிழரசுக்கட்சியின் வழக்கைக்கூட முடிவிற்குக் கொண்டுவரமுடியாமல் உள்ளது. கட்சியின் சிறிய உள்துறை பிரச்சினைகளைக் கூட முடிவுக்குக் கொண்டுசெல்ல முடியவில்லை. வடகிழக்கு தமிழ் மக்களின் உரிமைகள், எதிர்பார்ப்புகள் மற்றும் எதிர்காலம் குழப்பமடைந்து போக அனுமதிக்க முடியாது. இதுபோன்ற ஒரு நிலைமைக்கு மக்கள் கூறுவது போல: “ பழைய குருடி கதவைத் திறடி” என்ற கதை போலவாகிவிடக்கூடாது. இன்று தமிழ் அரசியல் கட்சி தற்போதைய சூழ்நிலைக்கு பொருத்தமாகவும் பலமாகவும் மறுசீரமைப்பு செய்யப்பட வேண்டும். இந்த மிக முக்கியமான நேரத்தில், தமிழ் மக்களின் எதிர்பார்ப்புகளை வெளிப்படுத்தும் ஒரு புதிய மாற்றம் தேவை. அடுத்த தேர்தலுக்கு தயாராகும் முன், கட்சியின் மறுசீரமைப்பில்: • 30% நாடாளுமன்ற வேட்பாளர்கள் வயது 18-50 வரை, • 30% பெண்கள், மற்றும் • 50-70 வயதுக்குள் உள்ள அரசியல் மற்றும் பொதுசேவைகள், மக்கள் நலன்சார்ந்த சேவைகளில் அனுபவமுள்ள 40% தலைவர்களை உள்ளடக்கியதாக இருக்க வேண்டும். 2024 நவம்பர் 21 முதல், ஒவ்வொரு விநாடியும் மக்களுக்காக தொடர்ந்து செயல்படவேண்டும். எங்கள் இலக்கு 22 க்கு மேற்பட்ட நாடாளுமன்ற இடங்களை வெல்லுதல் மற்றும் மக்களின் குரலாக உருவெடுப்பதாக இருக்க வேண்டும். இப்போது ஒருமித்தமாக, தைரியமாக செயல்பட்டு, மக்களுக்கு உண்மையான சேவையாளர்களாக உழைக்க வேண்டிய தருணம் இது. நன்றி மலையான் இரவீந்திரராஜா --------------- Vanakkam, No one is indispensable. For people living out of the country to talk about nationalism is very easy. But the truth is the people are fed up of being treated like shit by the so called upper class of society of Tamils and Singhalese. Thousands of youth lost their lives through out the island thinking that they were fighting for a worthy cause, while all along the upper classes were living cozy lives. This is the first time since independence that a single party could gain the trust of the people. We don't think on racial lines any more. We're a united nation now. The people of the north and east voted for a party from the south while most of the tamils in the south were elected by the sinhalese. Personally, my whole family and friends voted for Ambika Samuel and kitnen selvaraj ,two contestants from the hill country plantations. Major problem in North East is there is no labour to work. Farming or running a small business like small restaurant is extremely difficult as there is no labour. How will 13A or federalism solve this problem? There is no people in NE .

( It was in fact the wish of majority Russians to discard the financially burdensome states as unwanted extra luggage and not vice versa.) On the contrary, in Spain, Catalonia state despite the majority people's mandate for independance was not allowed to become independant as it was not allowed as per their constitution. Politicians should understand the reality. Having failed in their arm struggle, it would be very difficult to bargain for the seperate Elam. The only possible thing is implementation of 13 th Amendment.
The youth who spoke in this were Tamil speaking, Indian, United Pakistan, Bangladeshi origin, Tamil nationality, not concerned about mobile phone, drama, movie, drug concern.

It’s not just about Sinhalese treating Tamils unfairly; discrimination exists within our own Tamil community too. Many Tamils treat fellow Tamils differently based on caste, religion, or where they’re from. In my experience, I’ve often felt more respected by Sinhalese than by our own Tamil leaders and those in power who should be representing us. We need to recognize and address all forms of discrimination, both from outside and within, to truly move forward as a united society.

Sinhala nationalism is already being rejected by new generations. All we need is to live freely doing our own thing. We support everyone to live freely speaking their language, practicing their religion and culture freely. We support same rights for every citizen. What else someone need other than that?
I think the only thing public need is this. If someone is trying to manipulate you for something other than that, they are playing politics. This is true for both north and south. Former President Mahinda tried to create doubts in Sinhalese towards Muslims, but he went to Masjid and prayed with them when he needed votes.
Once you stop thinking about having a piece of the country, the whole country itself is yours. If we all have same rights despite our nationality, what else you need. I believe only NPP with Anura can make this change. Praying for the best.

How can you ensure that future politicians will not commit the same stupidity?
Right to self determination is not separation.
For example, Every person in marriage relationship has the right for divorce/separation. But, it doesn't mean that they should live separate or get divorce.
If every member in a family is respected, they have no reason to lose the family bonding.
Same logic can be applicable to nations inside a sovereign country.
We Tamils suffered the discrimination by the successive government in colombo.
So, We want some legal protection/arrangements to escape such discrimination in the future.
We Tamils believe if our right to self determination is accepted and incorporated inside the constitution of Sri Lanka, nobody will dare to discriminate.
We want right to self determination, it doesn't mean We are going separate or We are against Sinhala people.
We want Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim and other SriLankans to live in harmony with happiness, respect and dignity.
We cannot accept the mere words, We want everything written and incorporated into the constitution.

Tell you frankly out of my best friends at work place for the last 25 or more years, two are Tamil speaking. Of them, one follows Christianity and other one follows Hinduism. Three others are Christians and another three are Buddhists. Those are the very close friends on whom I've 💯% confidence & trust. In my opinion when there is no opportunity for us to mix with different ethnicities, OR Cultural backgrounds we loose OR are unable to to build trust with each other. Dirty politicians/rulers exploit this situation for their own benefit not only in Si Lanka even in India and all over the world.

People are already tired of elections. 13A means another around of elections after local body elections. Meaning srilankan would have regular elections. So provincial councils with 9 provinces is unsustainable. Also NE is deserted . Most people live in Colombo ( only vote in NE) or migrated to western countries. Ofcourse tamil people suffered a lot in the past . But in the current demographic scenario, Indian style federalism is unsustainable for a small country like srilanka.
Countries like Belgium and Switzerland demonstrate that federalism works very well in small countries. It’s not size but the diversity of a society that calls for a federal approach. Unitary approach in a multi-ethnic country result only in majority rule.

அடுத்த தேர்தலுக்கு தயாராகும் முன், கட்சியின் மறுசீரமைப்பில்:
• 30% நாடாளுமன்ற வேட்பாளர்கள் வயது 18-50 வரை,
• 30% பெண்கள், மற்றும்
• 50-70 வயதுக்குள் உள்ள அரசியல் மற்றும் பொதுசேவைகள், மக்கள் நலன்சார்ந்த சேவைகளில் அனுபவமுள்ள 40% தலைவர்களை உள்ளடக்கியதாக இருக்க வேண்டும்.
2024 நவம்பர் 21 முதல், ஒவ்வொரு விநாடியும் மக்களுக்காக தொடர்ந்து செயல்படவேண்டும். எங்கள் இலக்கு 22 க்கு மேற்பட்ட நாடாளுமன்ற இடங்களை வெல்லுதல் மற்றும் மக்களின் குரலாக உருவெடுப்பதாக இருக்க வேண்டும்.

In preparation for the next election, the party must aim for restructuring with:
• 30% of candidates aged 18-50 years,
• 30% women, and
• 40% experienced leaders aged 50-70 years with expertise in politics, public service, and community welfare.
From November 21, 2024, every second must be dedicated to serving the people with unwavering commitment. Our goal should be to secure more than 22 parliamentary seats and emerge as the voice of the people.

❤❤❤❤Thank you, our brothers and sisters from the north,east and through out the country. Voteting the present government into office was a noble act. For people living out of the country to talk about nationalism is very easy. But the truth is the people are fed up of being treated like shit by the so called upper class of society of Tamils and Singhalese. Thousands of youth lost their lives through out the island thinking that they were fighting for a worthy cause, while all along the upper classes were living cozy lives. This is the first time since independence that a single party could gain the trust of the people. We don't think on racial lines any more. We're a united nation now. The people of the north and east voted for a party from the south while most of the tamils in the south were elected by the sinhalese. Personally, my whole family and friends voted for Ambika Samuel and kitnen selvaraj ,two contestants from the hill country plantations. With the present government we feel that there is still hope for the people to live peaceful harmonious lives. God 's blessings to all the people of Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 ❤

Srilanka government is reluctant to implement the 13 th Constitutional amendment which gives only some marginal rights to the Tamils. That being the reality, where is the scope for bringing in the self determination right to Tamils in their constitution.
Soviet constitution allowed the right for self determination to different constituent states and so they were allowed to become independant. ( It was in fact the wish of majority Russians to discard the financially burdensome states as unwanted extra luggage and not vice versa.) On the contrary, in Spain, Catalonia state despite the majority people's mandate for independance was not allowed to become independant as it was not allowed as per their constitution. Politicians should understand the reality. Having failed in their arm struggle, it would be very difficult to bargain for the seperate Elam. The only possible thing is implementation of 13 th Amendment.
The youth who spoke in this were Tamil speaking, Indian, United Pakistan, Bangladeshi origin, Tamil nationality, not concerned about mobile phone, drama, movie, drug concern.
