I want to visit NYC this summer so bad!
The high line viaduct was freight rail not transit. If it were transit it would be elevated rail bc subways are underground by definition. The route’s use dropped when shipping moved from piers along manhattan to NJ along with the invention of containerization and giant shipping cranes.

Brett, I love the videos and if you take the ferry and skate for about ten minutes you can get to 5050 skatepark on front street. It's not free but it's awesome!

You walk right into Hudson Yards from the High Line. 30 Hudson Yards is already topped out. That is going to be finished in 2019. I can't wait. I have, yet, to ride the Staten Island ferry just to say I rode it....lmao!! There is free Kayaking at Brooklyn Bridge Park too in the summer. Just walk the Brooklyn Bridge and take the stairs into Dumbo. It's on Pier 2. They also have the free hot dog bus as well on the main pier (summer only). Their hot dogs are pretty good too. The 9/11 Memorial is also free (and the FDNY Memorial which is right near there). Great video. 😉
I have to admit, compared to being in Sydney, Australia this whole city looks a bit sad. Dirty river, average coffee, dilapidated buildings, sunset over concrete (vs. a gorgeous blue harbour), everyone dressed badly, old ferry (vs. Sydney's gorgeous white yachts and catamarans everywhere). I'm surprised people find New York so appealing.
I love living in NYC so much to do.
Actually south street sea port is on water st on the east river.. SI ferry is battery park area

Even Ny becomes boring when you re alone there and you wanna meet someone but almost everyone is so stucked in their phones or they re working or busy.Yep.Been there ,felt that on my skin ,although i love Ny,the facts are facts.
*great video! I'm doing a similar one, $500 for nearly a full week in NYC! Not counting the Airbnb rental or anything but for sure including everything I did + ate I spent just under $200! So it'totally doable! great vid, helpful tips. We did nearly all of them on our trip* :)
