Approx 435 yards - 3 balls Loops and Threads Eco-Cosy (145 yds per ball) Made from recycled plastic. Bulky #5 (Any #5 will be suitable)
2 balls = scarf and 1 ball = beanie

I’m a left handed person who crochets right handed, but I think doing a brim that way would turn my brain inside out! 🙃 I love the stitch pattern though, and will work it into a top down beanie. Thanks for the tutorial!

I am making this now with lion brand homespun in the color candy apple. I used 1 skein for the scarf and I will make the hat tomorrow. I have plenty yarn so I may add more to the scarf. I really like how the scarf came out. This is for my daughter in law for her Christmas present. I am going to order some pompoms on Amazon and put a white one on top! Very easy pattern so far! Thank you!💖🤗🎄

Best and clearest demo I've seen of that afterthought rib. I had greatest problems working out how/where to attach to the hat when I came back down. Luckily the yarn had a bit of a halo that disguised inconsistencies in my attaching. . After that I was glad I found one with front post back post rib. I'm confident to try this one again now. On the scarf, I know you didn't intend to make some doubles in row 2 half doubles! It happens! As you can see, it didn't cause any issues. You know I love you! ❤️🙂🌹

Love the tutorial so easy and lively to make for Christmas presents.
Beautiful set! Thank you for another great pattern. I always have trouble trying to sew a button on the inside so I switched to using cord stops. Just thread the pom pom elastic through a yarn needle and pull through to the inside of the hat and then through the cord stop. It makes it easier to remove and reattach when you need to wash your hat.

Love the matching set. I will do it very soon. I may do the brim different not because I don't like it but I have a fun fur yarn that matches a bulkey 5 that I have. I thought it would be a good time to use it. I may just do a crab stotch but add another round of singel and double. I know this stitch as dizzy doubles. I am sure it has other names. I have made wraps and scarfs never a hat. Looks easy fun and fast.
