After three years, there is a new tournament and everything goes pretty similar with differences; Kami doesn't intervene, Piccolo is defeated by Bulma and Goku wins against Bulma. Five years later, Goku is married to Chi-Chi and Bulma comes around to train with Goku.

Actually no... Hybrids have higher potential than full-blooded Saiyans... As for intelligence, that varies from person to person... Genes and intellect are two different things...

while hybrids have higher potential, canon gohan rarely trains.
having two saiyan parents would mean more training that would make him stronger. less potential but more active strength.
while I agree that genes and interest are two different things, you will find that genetics increase/decrease the chance to get a higher/lower intellect.
