- After far too long arranging shipping and import of Wilbur, the 1954 Square Four, into Australia, we are finally here and riding! To celebrate this we had 50km to one of the largest steam and heritage weekends in Australia, the 122nd Lake Goldsmith Steam Rally. here we visit some of the 50 or so enthusiast sheds, watch a 90 tonne steam shovel in action, and hear the mighty 27 litre V12 car and a 9 cylinder radial aero engine being fired up. All good fun!
Thank you.
Ah we finally get to meet Wilbur, beautiful Ariel. Great video. Thank you for not inflicting music on us so we can hear the sound of the past. Well done
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good to see you and Wilbur re-United. Have not been to the Goldsmith rally for 30years. You have re-enthused me to get to the next one. Keep up the good videos Richard.
Please do, will see you there hopefully!
Fantastic video mate cheers
I love this! My Dad collected and restored stationary engines and old tractors. We went to farm shows for years and years in summer as a family.
Also your Ariel square four! Beautiful! And the later model with the improved exhaust. Wonderful! Thanks for sharing 👍
Cheers
Glad you enjoyed it! Such a unique sound the steam and big stationary engines chuffing away
I was at the rally myself as an exhibitor
Don’t see an Ariel Square 4 on the street everyday.
Do I take it you have permanently forsaken the great Yorkshire Dales for sunnier climes. Great to see Wilbur out and about again, a bit different to Norway.
Lots of interesting machinery etc there.
Yes I have, but I'll be back in the Dales from time to time :-) Thanks for watching and the comment!
I was so jealous of your trip during lockdown.@@WilbursTravels-ArielSquareFour
Excellent really interestng video Richard and good to see Wilber back looking like he,s had a good fettle since Norway.
Not sure about the only steam digger in the world there was one rescued from a water filled quarry here in the UK it is an interesting watch

No Yorkshire tea in this one shameful lol.
Take care
Martin
Yes maybe I should clarify, that is the only 90 tonne Ruston steam shovel running in the world, other steam shovels are available! Love the video link thanks for posting that. Safety flat caps all round ;-) Yorkshire tea will make a reappearance soon!
