- I met Bill and Tree this past summer in San Francisco. Because their story is so different, and possibly the most unique homeless story I have ever come across, I waited until the right time to share. Often I hear stories that are hard to imagine. Most of them are filled with pain and suffering. Bill and Tree's story is not like that at all. It's more of a happy story of two people who met each other and now are world-travelers.
Occasionally I'll hear a story that seems like a "tall tale", yet I must always keep in mind my own story: when I was on the streets of Hollywood and told people I worked in television, they probably didn't believe me, but I did play a direct role in making sure the world received Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and many others syndicated TV shows.
Let's see if you can follow along! Bill and Tree have a house in Mexico, but had to travel north for a social security appointment. They cannot afford decent hotels, and low-cost hotels are nasty, so they live out on the streets instead. Tree was married for many years, but then ending up on the streets. She met Bill in Miami, where Bill and a congresswoman helped Tree get her passport, and the two have been traveling ever since.
This really is a wonderful love story of two people who met while homeless, and give their all to make their life as best as it can be. When you hear Tree's response to Bill's third wish you just cannot help but smile.

They aren't together for money or materialistic purposes. They got to know each other for who they are

I would absolutely buy some artwork if I knew how to reach them online! Maybe a lot of us would. they could possibly not have to worry much about making money if they sold their work online, and made a permanent small business out of it, that way working on the streets would be something they only had to do when they felt like it, or they just do it for tourists in good weather.

Their story is pretty unique; I've never seen a duo like them. I wish the best for these two! I'm actually very impressed with how they've survived.

Hm. We have something in common. I also live in SF. And I've lived in Punta Gorda. A lot of interesting folks come in, because it is literaly the end of the road in Belize, as far south as you can go without taking a boat. Some of them stay on for a while. Anyway, as you can see, not all homeless are alike. Some, like them, can wander four countries. Others, if you move the free food three blocks, it takes them six months to figure it out.
If he has to pay for dental care out of pocket. TJ is not a bad place to do it. A lot of Americans go to Tiajuana just for cheap dental care.

Let me get this straight. They have a home in Mexico that our social security taxes and their art is paying for. They travel the world. But they're homeless. And they had to return to San Francisco so their social security money wouldn't run out. Sounds to me like they retired early off the backs of tax paying Americans.
Beautiful people , make do without money but you do have each other to rely on , which is the most important thing in the world. Some people have a bit of money but no love or alone in their house just looking at the window watching the world pass by , i would preferred be these guys ,traveling together visits places seeing the world. If they have a home in mexico and pensions, why are they homeless? When i panhandeled i used it for a motel when i got nuff. Love how they bragg about traveling, which most of us homeless never had, let alone been on a plane, these are just criminals exploiting the most vunerable.

Zanya Carey I live in Mexico. Blood pressure medication is over the counter. I know this because I am a musicians and sometimes take it to control anxiety. Blood pressure meds and medicine in general is much cheaper in Mexico. Also going to the doctor is much cheaper in Mexico but maybe this guy has insurance in the states to cover his injury and he doesn’t have to pay anything. Produce and etc is cheaper in Mexico. Maybe they are in an unsafe part so they don’t want to stay there. No idea.
Zanya Carey I will say as an expat I am moving back to they United States. Not easy adjusting to another culture not everyone can do it and not everyone of course but there can be bigger issues for black people in Mexico. As an American who looks completely white (I am half Hispanic) I have encountered my fair share of racism in the work place so I cannot imagine how things could be for black people but there’s also the chance she hasn’t experienced this either..
Michael R. according to everyone in the comments all these people are "mentally ill" our society is so sterilized nowadays that everyone has to label everyone mentally ill just so they have an explanation for something they don't understand. You just want a justification for their homelessness so you can feel safe, knowing that the same can't happen to you.

These people have money - he has a lawyer in Europe. Not sure what they are playing at... the other stories seem more real but these people have choices. many homeless don't!
Veterans should be provided for......come on! Older and elderly! All had suffered, families need support etc. .
their stoey is a little too unique tbh. it reminds me a lot of the time i was walking back to my house at midnight from the grocery store and a black suv dropped a guy off in my path who then stopped me as i walked by and proceeded to tell me a long story about how he used to be in the military and he doesnt believe in the government anymore because they abandoned him in his time of need and then proceeded to show me a military looking id card with a scratched off face on it. which he says its scratched off because hes angry at the government, and i asked him who dropped you off just now and he said the government, even though we werent anywhere near a homeless shelter or anything. finally i tried to leave but he kept hounding me so i gave him 20 bux from a local atm and he was super grateful and i left. only did it because i felt the situation was getting dangerou though, dont believe a word of the guys story.
I appreciate the interviews. I hope that in the future the interviewer would allow individuals to complete their statements. There were key places she had been that could not be understood. the interviewers interjections are very loud due to the mic being close to the mouth/face. Although this has not been done throughout the video, it has happened in other videos. Nevertheless, I hope for continued work in this ministry to inform the world.

You can live where you want & collect your personal government & any private pension. If you leave the country,, then of course you cannot collect assistance of other kind. So, if you are of age to get your pension, that you contributed to all your working years, you can live where you want & still get that money. If you get local assistance, you cannot. I know, however, that your government pension alone is not usually enough...but the place you live in is responsible for anything else.
