I'm only 10 min in, but you're spot on about the brunch crowd! I'm a cis woman, and although I'm not hetero myself I do have friends who are. I cannot imagine bringing cishet friends to a drag show unless _they_ were specifically wanting to go, and even then I would be highly selective about who I brought into that environment! They're with me so they're basically representing me while we're in the building, I'm definitely not going to tolerate anyone acting dumb or disrespectful bc then it seems like I condone that behavior. Ugh. I'd rather just go with my queer friends who are already into drag lol
Also it's always so funny to me that there are so many parallels between being a stripper and being a drag queen. I danced for over a decade, and sooooo many people would think they were cute and funny trying to pull the dollar away when they tipped 🙄 It definitely felt like they were dangling a carrot on a stick.
We had similar issues with people in groups bringing their friends who weren't comfortable, and trying to get them to go further than they wanted to. It was very uncomfortable. Or they'd bring friends who just plain didn't wanna be there. The best (not) were the groups of guys with one or two women, and the women would make shitty comments about all the dancers. I am sure they do the same type of shit to queens.
I know this is a long ass comment, but I guess I'm just Very Delta™ like that.
