your whole aesthetics are so pleasing and chill and minimalist, there is nothing not to love about it! you have a very unique sense of beauty I think) thank you for sharing with the world!
Oh the shadow of the tree through the curtain is so nice! And I love the ponds, made one this year too, plants only- the seller recommended some Elodea submerged in the water, they make oxygen and keep the water fresh. Also no problem if it rains- only huge, fat drops will splash out some of the little swimming plants, the rest stays in thanks to the surface tension. And if I say plants only.. there are some tiny water snails that came with the plants, eat the algea and the dead foliage~ have a look out for those, they are cute ^^
I love the warm and cozy vibe of the room and balcony. Great job choosing the plants and making a nice atmosphere. Those floating candles were like something out of a movie. So magical. Loved the video as always, Benji!
random but im waiting ever so patiently for a curated spotify playlist of all the ambience music you play in your videos. it's top tier alongside your content, like a big morning hug.
I don't know how to say this and not sound old and corny, but your show's whole vibe brings me back to my childhood, watching Mister Roger's Neighborhood - your videos have a similar blend of quiet kindness and beauty and lovely, thoughtful music, nothing is childish but everything feels fresh and simple in the best senses. Thanks for inviting others in to your vision and space.
ty for the flower ID, and yes i’m planning on getting rice fish, but i need to do a little more research on their temp requirements. I lost my thermometer during my move so i’m not sure how much the temperature fluctuates throughout the day/night
@@benjiplant For sure. I'm guessing they would be just fine as long as the have some plant cover and some afternoon shade which seems like they have. I have some Daisy's rice fish but haven't tried them outside yet. Good luck :)

The white flowers are allysiums. They are also great magnets for beneficial insects and I sit my houseplants outside (season permitting) next to them whenever I have pest issues.
ahh i love that my videos can do that for you. I watch youtube or listen to certain songs when i can't fall asleep. Other channels i recommend are Leah's field notes, and for music, search up "KMRU Jar". Idk if you like music when you go to sleep, but this album has really peaceful ambient sounds
Do you have to replace the water in the ponds ? And what if it rains? Is there a system to not make it overflow? You made me want to have my own little pond
i haven’t really exchanged water out, i just top it off whenever it evaporates a bit. ideally you would do some water exchanges but since i only keep plants right now i’m not too worried about it. and ab the rain…. i don’t really have a plant yet other than putting a lid on top haha. luckily it doesn’t rain too often in LA though!
The white flowering plant is sweet alyssum (Lobularia), a crucifer. Look closely at the flowers. They form an X or cross. Sweet alyssum also comes in pink, dark pink, peach, magenta, light purple and dark purple. The dwarf varieties are 3" - 4" tall. Some well-known crucifers are mustard, radish, broccoli, cauliflower and stock. When sweet alyssum goes to seed, shear it back just below the forming seeds and it will grow back and rebloom.
yeah i think i might do a nursery tour around LA type thing. It just feels kind of weird to record in public lol, but i’m getting more comfortable with it
Hey now that your in LA a great nursery to checkout is Villa Hermosa. It’s in Torrance which is right below LA and they have a variety of things like flowers, succulents, houseplants, and plant stuff like pots and fertilizer. I know Yamaguchi Bonsai nursery is far away and I’m assuming your near there but if you ever have time I would recommend going to Villa Hermosa, it’s also family owned if your into supporting that type of thing.
I am in love with your videos. I feel so motivated to take care of my plants after watching your videos. Wish you'll get 100k subscribers very soon. Take love.
what a lovely video to wind down with :). I just spent the past couple hours spraying down eighty or so of my plants to combat a spider mites outbreak. If any of y'all have any advice, let me know. I've dealt with spider mites plenty of times, but I am always eager to learn new tips and tricks!
i love your videos, they are sooo soothing, right now I have a lot of vegetables on my balcony but now Im really thinking about getting a little pond because it looks so coooooll
hi! Those white flowers are called alyssum there long living annuals! And if u didn’t know they seed very fast! I have my own outdoor garden I have so much of alyssum!!!
6:27 i love the creeping jenny and ludwigia sedoides! Although since you like plants too, maybe the mosquito larvae problem can be blocked with aquatic bladderworts/utricularias!
Your balcony is beautiful! I love everything about your aesthetic! The lil flowers on the table are called sweet alyssum (hope I spelled that right) they are a relative of cabbage, kale, etc, they are technically edible and are popular in cottage gardens, I used to have some pale pink ones by my koi pond and they reseed themselves in a new part of my yard every year!
I'm not sure about this, but I think the plant beside the rubber plant is a horseradish or what we call malunggay in the Philippines. We always use its leaves for cooking.
btw that smoke alarm chirp is from one of my neighbors. perks of living in an apartment i suppose lol
