- Here is a video of a visit to the beautiful Eyrignac Garden in Dordogne, France in August 2015.
It was so inspiring that visitors spontaneously broke into song. And I got them on video :)
From Gardening at Douentza in Wexford, Ireland.
Thank you for taking me to this absolutely magnificent topiary garden. All topiaires are free standing and without any metal frames as I love them. In my way of doing topiaires in my front garden. There is a swan from one plant of English box. The structure, the look. People stop and look as the swan is sitting proudly in ground caring by me . Thank you again for taking me to places I can still dream of🏆🏆Jose from Melbourne Australia.
I am so glad you loved this garden as I did. Eyrignac is truly magnificent and extensive with a lot of variation. Hope you are having a great weekend down there in Melbourne and happy growing.
Thank you. We are finally breathing easy in Victoria with no cases or deaths since 29 days . Can’t wait to visit the outdoors. Thank you again for sharing the beautiful videos and your time. 🏆🏆Jose in Melbourne , Australia

Oh Rachel thank you sooooo much for sharing this video - the garden was absolutely beautiful and when those people were inspired to start singing - well it gave me goosebumps. And those frogs with water shooting out of their mouth - so cute
+Tamara Previtali I'm so glad you liked the video. I was bowled over by the lovely garden.
Very beautiful and interesting garden. Not a blade of grass out of place! It's so elegant, and beautiful. I wonder how often the gardeners have to trim those topiaries. Maybe even once a week! I love the black dahlia at 6:16.
+Orchids & a Dutchy Thank you for watching, Andrea. Yes, that garden must take a lot of maintenance. But it is so beautiful. I love that dahlia too
Thank you for the tour, Rachael--did I spell your name correctly. I think I will plan a trip through Europe on my next Summer vacation.
+Roy Plant Dharma Well, Roy, you must come visit Ireland if you come to Europe!
Best wishes
Rachel
Oh, this is MAGNIFIQUE!!! I wonder if they use electric shears or if they are purists and use all hand clippers which give a better look to clipped things but are sooooo much more time consuming. I just loved this and would have had a hard time leaving it. Thanks so much.
+Jackie Binkley Thank you, Jackie. I did have a lovely day and there was free wifi in the garden so my boys were happy too. lol.
Just researched this garden a little and the hornbeam hedges at least are indeed hand-clipped after being marked out perfectly straight with lines of string. Excuse my spelling sometimes I see what I did. I'm brain dead some days.
+Jackie Binkley That's a lot of work!!!
Do you remember the temperature when you were there?
Sorry, no. But it was very hot. lovely weather but the kind where you need to water the lawn.
Why always referring to Versailles? The Gardens of Eyrignac have nothing to do with it. Both are beautiful but cannot be compared.
