The rise and fall of Stanford football, from borderline National Title contenders, frequent Rose Bowl participants to barely getting to 4 wins in little more then a decade.
Penn State lost to Ole Miss because HALF of their defense starters OPTED OUT and several starters only played part of the game like their best offensive lineman for example. Non playoff Bowl games have become absolutely meaningless because of opt outs. Ole Miss, if I remember correctly , had only TWO opt outs total, Penn State had triple that amount.
We Are Baby 💙🤍 Scott is a Penn State Enjoyer. It’s hard not to jump on the hype train. I’m a huge PSU fan. And it’s been so long since we’ve won a meaningful game with any severance. To me this is the best they’ve looked offensively in 5 years. These guys are playing with swagger and toughness. It’s going to be a good season. And I think they’ve got what it takes to win all their games. Now will they win against OSU? I don’t know. But it’s the best chance they have. Great coordinators. Love the new hires.
Great vid Scott as a Penn State fan I was really happy watching this game seeing the offense have creativity and lots of pre-snap motion I hope Allar continues to play big and we can make a playoff run hopefully we can finally beat Ohio State lol
Drew looked completely different from a grit, confidence and mindset perspective. We never would have seen him yelling at refs and stiff arming guys into the turf and then talking smack after last year. If you didn’t watch a lot of Penn state games last year you won’t understand. Also we had 4 plays of 40yd or more in the game against WV, last year we had 8…….. the entire season. And our defense definitely looks scary. And it’s always funny how before the game the media and most CFB fans said WV could upset us and this game is going to be close but then after the game everyone switches up and says “well WV isn’t good of course you should win”
As a Penn state fan i believe in this team every year no matter what but im not sold yet on this team being scary yes we looked good but its one game we need to prove ourselves against Ohio state or its just gonna be another year on repeat
I was hoping allar would hit him on the fade before the half. He dusted the tight man coverage and had two steps. I’m excited for what he can bring to the offense.

I love Penn states coaches. They should compete very well in the division. I really hope we can start playing better against Ohio state and Michigan state. I am optimistic that we might turn the corner.
And this year, Penn State can get away with losing one or two and still make the playoffs so that takes a little bit of the pressure off, but if they beat Ohio State, they will gain respect across the country and put everybody on notice. I think that’s what their entire season is going towards.
They looked real scary in 2008 ,ɓuuuut then along came michigan and barely got by ohio state then came the rose bowl and usc absolutely man handled them
They missed out on being in the playoffs by a total of 17 points. Eight points to Ohio State and nine points to the NATIONAL CHAMPIONS Michigan. Understand this , there are 134 D-1 teams, and 120 or so would love to have Penn States horrible and despicable problem of being a 10-2 team and being the third best team in the conference that ONLY loses to two teams , one being the NATIONAL CHAMPIONS and the other being a national championship contender. You guys are ruining college football with this crap of if you're not undefeated, your garbage. Also no one in recent years has predicted Penn State to win the National Championship, but only in the conversation of possibly making it to the playoffs. Saying a team has a CHANCE to make the playoffs is a totally DIFFERENT thing actually saying they will be playing in the Championship game . If you have a problem with Penn State, that's your problem and an ignorant one at that. Labeling a team garbage because of only 17 points. Grow up, seriously.....
Lets wait an see during that big 4 game stretch..WV offense was basic playing scared. WV defense joke 3 man line Zone. Probably wont see that later in season very often.
I agree with your take on Penn state but We going to end up coming back to this video and say this didn't age well after the OSU game and whatever else game is considered big for PennSt. I most definitely think they will make the playoffs and win 1 playoff game. The question is can they do this in their biggest games this year.
Yeah I’ve been watching psu football for 40 years, and I know how this story ends every time. They look great week 1, even better in the following weeks, everyone gets excited, they peak around week 4-5 depending on the year, then they face Ohio state or Michigan and get their asses kicked. From there it’s pretty much downhill as the whole program seems to be rattled. I think they lose to USC, Ohio state, and one more team they shouldn’t lose to and they miss the playoff. The fans make excuses for James Franklin, James Franklin makes excuses for James Franklin, Pat Kraft makes excuses for James Franklin. They play in a useless bowl game where 10 stars opt out and get their asses kicked in that game too. Then the offseason begins and it’s rinse and repeat. Same story every single year. I’ve seen it many many many times, and the James Franklin era has been the most predictable.
Penn St was arguably #5 behind Michigan, OSU, Bama and UGA the last two years. They are not far away. Unlike Ole Miss, the program people compare to PSU. Ole Miss is far away; they can’t keep the games close.

If they go 10-2 again and lose first round then sure. I think having the sign stealer out of the conference (and cfb all together) will give these guys another win
Yep, let’s do a deep dive into PSU, with simplistic analysis. Focusing on a sophomore QB who lost his projected #1 & #3 WRs to injury for nearly the entire season, and left KLS, a pretty demure #1, as the supposed ‘leader’ of that crew that couldn’t get much separation, and gave a 1st-time starter no options. Add an OC that wasn’t as creative as thought, and the offense was left to grind out wins, mainly with short runs & passes. Also, could have mentioned that PSU played the eventual NC better than anyone not named Bama. The hill PSU had to climb was due to the devastating effects of the Sandusky/Second Mile scandal and the PR nightmare that crippled recruiting for several years. Connections with long-established HS coaches were severed, kids and parents didn’t want to hear offers, and OSU & MI got light years ahead in the recruiting wars and the blossoming NIL stuff. Now, finally… the stigma of the completely bullshit events of 2011 have faded… kids and families and HS coaches are listening to Franklin’s team of recruiters and the NIL situation is getting better… but still nowhere near the 20 mil both the conference leaders are spending on players this season. So, getting over PSU’s “hill” is a lot more complicated than just laying blame on a soph QB and a coach that has rebuilt a program and a legacy.
