How NO TO DO diagmosis. Run multimeter in diode mode - check caps near BB PMU - find short - give 0,5 -1V in the shorted line - see who heats - PROFIT. 3 minutes diagnosis.
Of course then if you checked that resistance is good you be able to check voltages, but 7 of 10 devices on Qualcomm BB will have a short , so it is good known failure.
10 seconds diagnosis:
1. Find a short circuit
2. Place the motherboard in the trash can
Profit!
it's a short in the mobo trace so the board is now trash
@@ratupmyass something not quite clear, if the Baseband CPU is shorted they say to replace CPU / baseband cpu / and baseband pmu , but you need these 3 even if the baseband cpu is shorted to another board?
You also can use power supply and thermalvision camera to see whot component as shorted without soldering capacitors and pmu and basband CPU

For this issue apple made an article, i went in a apple store and they gave me a new one. It’s a fault on a specific version of iphone 7. Google it

bro modem firmware problem is related to baseband because i have read on some website article.. so if your modem firmware is showing then your baseband ic is okay..

My question is : Would it be possible to have a jig that could read/write the shorted baseband cpu in order to transfer the IMEI data into a different fully working baseband cpu? This issue is very frequent, I have had many phones with this issue that gave me lots of headaches... Perhaps the Baseband CPU is shorted beyond the ability to recover it's data.
I'm curious to see how long it takes Rewa to respond to this question. The answer is no, but do they know why?

It can be caused if you put a white dock connector to a black iphone or putting a black dock connector to gold or silver iphone 7,so try different dock connector

Partial right, I guess. But the pin layout is the same no matter the color of the dock.
There is however, an antenna attached to the dock it's self. If not connected the phones my have poor or no reception.
In this case the Baseband is not working. The Baseband converts the incoming data into a broadcast frequency.

Use a jig to reattach the two half of the board and test before checking baseband chip

Apple need to engineer their pcb design to build a better phone not make it double stack like the latest iphone x’s pcb.
All the flexi flexi or drop make the iphone pcb bend and there is a line that bend between the nand area and the other side that cause c12 pad on audio ic failed result in boot loop. Also that line cause the baseband pmic fail and send wrong voltage to the main baseband ic result in “no service” issues.
I though they gonna reconstruct the pcb but instead of make the pcb stronger they double stack it. Oh well Apple

Можно махнуть модем, и даже запилить в него левцю прошивку, но скорее всего не взлетит
Just don't try to fix baseband issues. 95% of the time, it is not repairable due to baseband cpu shorted.
Why dont just replace those two component which was shorted??
In that cases u have to change the proccessor which is forbidded for rewa
