Nice, we were there for Veteran weekend and saw people catching black fin and bobo they call it. First time seeing people catch black fin off the pier. Wanted to learn, and ask question on technique and equipment on how but they were all busy casting and reeling and when the bite die they seem pack stuff up and left. Not use to people lining up and casting side by side, so we just stayed out of their way. It was fun to see, hope next time we go down there we can catch one ourselves.
@southernreds5627 9 feet up to 10 feet preferably with a decent sized reel with about 30 or 35 lbs of drag I recommend the van staal 200 to 275 with a fluke or 2 3/4 oz dimond jig
Skyway is 8,250 feet long but it was a road to a bridge that was left up when the new road was built and is now used to fish from. The Navarre pier was built as a pier and is compared to other piers built as a pier. It's all good no matter where you fish from.

It is not easy as some locals have taken them 15 years to land one. Thank you for supporting our channel.

Going to be visiting this coming weekend. What kind of fish can I find in the surf? Likely will only be able to bring my fly fishing gear.
Whiting
Thanks so much for getting back to me!

Thank you for your support.
I’m coming in mid December, is that a good time to come for tuna. I got all the gears ready. And what’s the best rod length?
6 ft
6’ won’t have casting distance. The guys in the video looks like they got 7’ to 9’

What determines if you use a gaff or a net?
Using a gaff if you are in a tight area , the fish is larger, would jump out of a net or you are not returning the catch back in the water.
@@RandallMeredith thanks for the educational information.
I thought skyway was the longest pier? Might have to make a trip there for some bait soon

What rig is being used to catch these? Is this typically a November run?
Flooded,Cabo Killer and Fluke are used for BFT. November is the best time in Navarre at daybreak.
I was supposed to be out there that day glad I wasn’t I would have been so out gunned 😂
Mason thank you for your support!

They come during the month of November and December. Daybreak is the best time to catch them. November is better than December. Tight Line

Get them things on ice, for Pete's sake. What is with you people leaving them lying on the deck like that?
What is the best time to go out there?
