It is one of the most current and of its time Eurovision songs (winners or not) ever. The Eurovision audience in general do not like current. They're still stuck in Waterloo.
One of the most exciting ESC votings ever and I can understand why Estonia won because the song had the ' feel good ' party factor . The performers went out there and delivered the song with terrific energy which made the public feel great and explains all the votes for the song. So well done to Estonia. Several of the other songs had great merit too, but this was Estonia's moment.
true but still it had some expenses and it wasn't as big as it is now with 40+ countries broadcasting the show and more people willing to pay to watch it live inside the arena.
the show costed around nothing because off sponsers..... But the company "parken, sport and entertaintment" that holds the arena, paid for a roof, that they kept afterwards for koncerts....

Ok some people saying that the bloc-voting didn't exist in late 90s, early 00s. However that's not the case. Those years the bloc-voting was founded. In 1999 Denmark won, in 2000 Sweden, in 2001 Estonia and in 2002 Latvia. All were members of the nordic-baltic block/alliance. It's weird to see Slovakia giving 12 points to Azerbaijan because they have been paid to do so. the hosts are fucking mad announcing estonia as the winner lol
As a Turkish my Winner is Greece Helena deserved twice victory
Greece did not want to win at Eurovision 2001 because the Greek public broadcaster ERT said that Greece did not have a stadium to host the competition as the OAKA basketball court was being renovated for the 2004 Olympic games.
Fun Fact: Corinne Hermes giving the points from France, but she won the Eurovision for Luxembourg in 1983

Only 2 points from Norway to Sweden?
Benji Khanzadeh
It does happen that we Nordic countries give eachother low points, although rarely - I'm from Denmark :P :P
This year Norway only gave 2 or 3 to Sweden as well.
Last year all Nordic countries gave nothing to Denmark xD
Nordic televotes are pretty fair
I had forgott how exciting this voteing was and none of the 2 songs in the top was my personal favorites. Someone said that Greece won a lot of times. Greece had never won 2001, they won 2005 and that is the only victory. I think some reading about the different winners true the years would be to recommend. France won the latest time in 1977 and before that it was in the in 1969, totaly 5 times 4 of them in the 60s.
10:30 shes had a couple of vodkas. I think she had to in order to get through those dreadful hosts 🤣
Greece should have won. Best song by far 🇬🇷 ❤️ Antique
As a Turkish I agree. What a great song for 2001

Greece had a typical europop song (dance/trance). It was a really popular genre in 90s, but in early 2000s people were sick of it. Same goes for Slovenia
Estonia won because other entries failed to stand out in 2001. It wasn't the best song, but it was the best overall package
If the winner was "awful", then everybody else should be ashamed because they lost

The quality is so bad that my headphones are cracking, lol XD
The british spokesman year after year always being rude to Portugal. Unbelievable.
Estonia has a good song but greece nailed it
Portugal was the only one that didn't give any point to the winner 😅😂
A week later, Dave and Tanel fell out
Why the crowd boos everytime France get points?
+Maho27 I swear, everyone's a politician :P
Because they knew it was the best song.
