I just got down there and started fighting the deathbringer. I never fought a single soldier... the deathbringer's firing killed them all during the fight😆😆
Lol it happened with me to lol all I needed to do is find the pattern of his firing and get the best time to shoot it's guns then use the fire arrows to do the rest
fred wangai yes, on ultra hard this boss was pain in the arse. Until i find an easy way. Check my channel, i defeat this boss below a minute on ultra hard.

I'm thinking you must be playing HZD on 'easy?' I'm playing on 'normal' and the Deathbringer zeros in on me within a second or two of killing the first elitist. Still, kudos for the excellent work!
Hide behind cover. Although this room has destructible cover, it has a lot of it. Also, don't stand on the higher platforms. Learned that the hard way. I'm playing it on Normal, although on NG+, it's still a pretty easy one. Tips: Get a Rattler, a Sling (that shoots Fire Bombs) and a bow (preferably one that can shoot Fire Arrows) I also recommend getting a Tear modification on your bow, and getting the Triple Shot skill. Before engaging, it's best to kill all the Cultists first. It'll be much easier. Scan the Deathbringer for its weakpoints. Even if you turn off your Focus, it'll still be highlighted in yellow. Start by hitting the largest ones. Hit it first with the Sling bombs to deal 100 damage max, 150 max on weakpoints, and 200+ if you remove components. Hit it with Fire Arrows. If you run out, here's another way that can use your normal arrows: Wait for it to overheat. It'll reveal a new set of weakpoints, already highlighted for you. Shoot those new weakpoints and you'll deal the same amount of Crit damage. Shoot as fast as you can though, as if it cools down, it will hide the cooling rods. The Overheat stat can be seen at the top of it (just like Elemental stats.) When in close combat, use the rattler. I recommend using the "Bolt Minigun" method (spamming the R2 button to release a flurry of bolts at a quick rate) at the expense of accuracy. These'll work for all Deathbringers (except the Final Battle one Edit: It will work, it will just take a lotta more time and resources.)
If you don't have these weapons I suggest taking cover while it reloads and going at its vital points with a sharp shooter bow, then running and doing it again till you run out of materials. Then just run and use fire arrows till it dies. Idk it worked for me. =p

Nicely done! I started playing this game about a month ago. This part is where I am at in the game. My biggest problem is I don't have enough health potions. I hope my boost portions will keep me afloat. After watching this I have a good idea of how to change things up. I don't have sling blast bombs but I do have tripcaster blast wires so we'll see...Great video.
I am considering going back to an older save and finding the components to craft better health containers. I could beat him probably enough for 2 more health recharges. I have been doing the roll and fire with standard arrow and it's real hard. I'm going to try the tripcaster electric wire. Hard game but real fun.

But hey i actually tried doing this mission and i got it on the first try it was actually super easy. Its not like i was stuck i just didnt even try to defeat judging by his look i immediately said ok im out without trying.
This guy is unbelievably aggressive in the very and ultrahard modes and doesn't freeze with one ropecaster trip, I think you need two or more. He sprays you with bullets, and then bathes you in fire. You don't usually have enough time to even take a potion. Laying these traps is very very clever though, I love creativity like this
i dies 2 times and then gave up and did all the side quests and errands and also completed 1/4 of the frozen wilds DLC that is how hard this level is! but now i completed it! thank you!
Guys, don't forget to use your Machine Catalogue in the Notebook tab of the game menu (not the pause menu.) It tells you exactly how to fight every machine and the best way to kill a Deathbringer: Use fire to cause it to overheat or catch it after it fires on you. You'll see a thermometer status indicator show up to signify that the Deathbringer is overheated. At thus point you'll see four cooling rods emerge from the top of the Deathbringer; use your machine catalogue to see exactly where they're situated. When the cooling rods are exposed, shoot them with your highest damage or tear arrows. This causes big damage and also leads to the Deathbringer overheating faster. After taking out the cooling rods, look in the machine catalogue to locate the Deathbringer's core. When it overheats again and the core is exposed, put as much damage on the core as possible. That's your best course of action right there but you can also use tearblast arrows to knock the Deathbringer's weapons off to make it harder for Deathbringer to attack you. This also means you have to manually overheat it with fire arrows or something, but it's up to you which tactic you favor. Deathbringer's body has a weakness to both fire and shock. It's completely immune to corruption or override. Orange highlighted parts (Focus scan the Deathbringer) stack up as follows: -Weaknesses: ALL -Strengths: NONE (The only exception to the above is the gun turret situated on the bottom side of the rotating upper section of the robot which has a specific weakness to tear. No strengths.)
How do you keep the deathbringer away from you after you rappel down? I kill the guy silently, no one sees me - they still blast me almost immediately! This is very frustrating.
I was level 18, only used fire arrows and running around. At a point, my hand went numb so I had to pause for a few minutes. The satisfaction after beating this thing after a half hour made me turn off the console lol
I’ve found that if you manage to wriggle your way directly under the deathbringer, you can spam your melee attack and it has no way to damage you. You don’t do that much damage, but you don’t have to worry about dying. Took me about two tries with this method.
Just beat it seconds ago on my game+. Your shock wire strategy worked _shockingly_ well and lobbing bombs on the cooling rods was pretty fun too! Will probably apply it on the final boss. Kinda helped also that my Aloy was maxed HP, plenty of resources + Shield Weaver outfit, that one was a life-saver on too many occasions. ☻ Thanks again.

Kept running around in circles with default bow, then realized wtf am I doing with this shitty bow after dieing like 40times then went out, bought a sharpshot bow and killed that son of a faro ez, this helped though but what kind of trip caster are you using?
I Ignored the men and shot the robot weak points as often as could and then jumped and ran around and around avoiding the guys because after about 3 to 6 circles the robot has killed the cultist, friendly fire. Then I started to shoot only when the heat sinks appeared. It took me a few times to figure that out.

Errors he made a) Better take out the humans from the catwalk above - using Sharpshot bow headshooting does the trick, just make sure nobody's watching their buddies die. b) Firetraps instead of Shocktraps - Farro machines are prone to fire damage and the constant damage beats the shocked shutdown - and while burning the Dathbringer also shuts down. c) If you feel then need to use the Blast Sling better use basic bombs or sticky - the trap bombs he used have the least boom. d) You get done way faster with the War Bow, peppering the DB with fire arrows and when it's down, take ot components with Sharpshot arrows or, if you feel the need, use Shockblast to take off components.
I beat this on Very Hard mode, mainly using Fire and Precision Arrow. It shoot so fast and I have to find a proper cover to spam my arrows. It was so frustrating and satisfying at the same time. I believe Ultra Hard will be even more challenging.
Everyone knows you 'freeze' it to increase damage and then using penetrating arrows (double or triple arrows if you have the skills) on its weak points - the glowing parts that extend from its body on occasion - while dodging like a master. But ... interesting.
Very nice but i used the Implode Arrows, then i used the Deathbringers own weapons and he was dead in seconds. The Deathbringer Weapon is the Hardest and best Weapon in the Game. Even those Bigger Machines dying in seconds.
If you have the chance to get the shadow sharp shot bow get it it costs 800 shards and a sawtooth heart I easily killed it by shooting a precision arrow to the weak spots and then evading and then shoot and then evade until you kill it, I was at level 15. (It would work better if you had the handling mod on the bow but I didn’t have it and I killed it)
I was 2 levels under the recommended level I beat it using fire arrows and running and just keep firing at its main weak spot on top then you should be good 👍

When in doubt, use fire arrows. I dodged and dodged and pumped fire arrows into him. That has become my go to weapon for almost all machine kills

You can actually stealthily shoot nearly all the eclipse before rappelling down. Makes it even easier.
I did that like 20 times but died each time cos I fell off the ledge instead of rappelling down was so annoying 😑
I -never- thought of using the trip caster. This fight always takes me ~20-30 mins on normal. I should really try to rappel down.

A deathbringer once had its main core exposed from the start so i did a triple shot with hardpoint arrow and it did over 80% damage

On ultra hard it’s a longer grind because the deathbringer is absolutely relentless

c) If you feel then need to use the Blast Sling better use basic bombs or sticky - the trap bombs he used have the least boom.
d) You get done way faster with the War Bow, peppering the DB with fire arrows and when it's down, take ot components with Sharpshot arrows or, if you feel the need, use Shockblast to take off components.
Which armor?
I beat this on Very Hard mode, mainly using Fire and Precision Arrow. It shoot so fast and I have to find a proper cover to spam my arrows. It was so frustrating and satisfying at the same time.
I believe Ultra Hard will be even more challenging.
I had a damage mod on my sharpshot bow and that was like the only thing I used lol

When I entered this mission he was at half health for some reason I shot the smoke thingy like about 5 times and he died.
I used tripwires and precision arrows. Took about 6 mins to kill. Well done to this guy though, he Completely thrashed this thing
How come in my game it doesn't get paralyze after stepping on my trip caster?
I use rattler with max shock weave to deal with human enemies. Critical strike when ever they get stunned.
Everyone knows you 'freeze' it to increase damage and then using penetrating arrows (double or triple arrows if you have the skills) on its weak points - the glowing parts that extend from its body on occasion - while dodging like a master.
But ... interesting.
Me, death like 5th time...all ammo are out of resources. Just stick arrow...and finally beat it 😆
The explosive sling works better if you freeze it

I found kinda great spot where it won't come and u get cover from missiles and guns and killed it using fire ball and presision arrows

Very nice but i used the Implode Arrows, then i used the Deathbringers own weapons and he was dead in seconds. The Deathbringer Weapon is the Hardest and best Weapon in the Game. Even those Bigger Machines dying in seconds.
If you have the chance to get the shadow sharp shot bow get it it costs 800 shards and a sawtooth heart I easily killed it by shooting a precision arrow to the weak spots and then evading and then shoot and then evade until you kill it, I was at level 15. (It would work better if you had the handling mod on the bow but I didn’t have it and I killed it)

I was 2 levels under the recommended level I beat it using fire arrows and running and just keep firing at its main weak spot on top then you should be good 👍
