There's this really cool quality of life mod for sonic 1 forever called Unique act palettes, it changes the stage color palette for acts 2/3 of a stage, for example green hill zone 1 is daytime, 2 is the afternoon, 3 is night time

You couldn't just use something like Launchbox? I use it for all my non-Steam stuff including, AM2R, Streets of Rage Remake, Turtles Rescuepalooza and emulation.

I don't think that's a good thing. Sega has become too reliant on it's community to fill in gaps they don't bother to fix.

I would like to add that Sonic Origins was also developed by former passionate hackers as well. The main problem is that SEGA rushed it out the door for Sonic's 31st anniversary. I have no idea if those games were able to be paired up with Origins (especially Sonic 3 AIR), but seeing that the team behind Origins are doing their best to patch the game shows that it was worth purchasing to support those developers. So with that said, please support the official release of those games if you want to see more in the future (but with better time management).
So I origins wasn't developed by them. Only the sonic 3 remaster of that game. EVERYTHING else was done by by Sonic team

I have not yet played S1F, S2A, and SCDR; but I can tell you much about S3AIR:
After replaying it after a while I could say that the only advantage any of those games showcased on Felipe Sonic Hacks is that they're nearly as community supported as anything on Steam with a workshop option. This mean you can customize the game to anything you desire considering you have an artist and a programmer to make it possible. This comes ahead with the Extra Slot project of both S1F and S3AIR (though it can only allow up to 255 characters officially). Thus, you can input any characters into said project as long as you have obtain a reserved slot for them.
As for Amy in Plus; I'm more or less torn between iCloudius' Anton Amy and Origins' Superstar Amy. Superstars does have an infinite hammer spin that can extend her hit box, but her Hammer Rush is jank; while Anton's spin is limited yet her Hammer bounce is nice to play around with (though a more balanced version is in the works). I cannot say or the other 3 community builds; but, from what I seen so far, S1F used the same playable Amy movesets form that old extra slot Amy for S3AIR and Mania (which were a reskin advance Amy at best) and SCDR just gave her a double jump and nothing else. Though I could safely say that the GG titles ain't worth the extra $5, especially when better SADX have those games built in and unlockable through Mission mode.
I might need a Steam Deck to play some incredible mods

I personally hope they add some more characters like Shadow and Silver or maybe even Amy in the future. Also, it would've been better if they redesigned the sprites and remix the original musics in anniversary mode just like this one... This doesn't mean I hate the game itself. I'm just a bit disappointed despite the excitement I had a month ago before the release. And lets be honest, this game doesn't deserve THAT much of a price.

The only thing you are missing from Origins if you play these only are the missions, which yeah, are neat, but the main games are all here and better. Every other special thing from Origins you can just google or find on youtube.
All of games have achviements so u can count them as missions so u can do achievment hunt

The games are free on the app store, the only one that isn't free is s3k (but Sega removed the legal way to buy it so pirating it is ok)
Just go to r/roms and ask someone for it, if it’s pirated or not doesent matter by that point, since it’s basically just being borrowed, sega can’t sue you for it aswell since the rom ain’t urs lol

Buy Origins only on Consoles if you want to support Stealth for the Sonic 3 remaster. It’s not worth the price on PC, and there are far less mod support in comparison to Sonic 3 AIR, the Mobile Ports, and the already released Sonic CD 2011.

Considering both Sonic Forever and Sonic 2 Absolute ask that you purchase the android versions to receive their APKs...kinda sounds like you're endorsing piracy here. Can't say much for Sonic 3 AIR. They don't sell the S3K bin on Steam anymore.
Sonic 1, 2 and CD are literally free (except CD wasn't free on PC, when it hasn't been deleted yet)

The sonic CD decompilation is LITERALLY in the description.
Most of this is not piracy, because sonic 1 forever is not the exact genesis rom, or the exact origins port, or the exact mobile port. Same with sonic 2, and excluding the part about the mobile port, same with sonic 3. I dont know what to say about sonic CD.
That's the thing, the developers of those mods intended you to purchase them to support the official release; regardless on your opinion on how they're treating the current series or not.

Sonic 3 AIR is not free. To play it legally, you have to bought the Sonic 3 game on steam before it was delisted. Otherwise you have to resourt to piracy to get it
Or, or, if you still have the genesis version of sonic 3 & knuckles, you can use that one.
Either way 1.5 dollars(that was the price on steam) is still better than 40 dollars.
Not to mention its no longer piracy due to that specific copy no longer being sold.
Finding a CD Key for it is also an option
None of the games above are free as they're require you to purchase the 2011 Sonic CD, 2013 Sonic the Hedgehog, and 2014 Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
Just go to r/ roms and ask for a copy, whether it’s pirated or not doesent matter at that point, it ain’t yo rom no more lol

This is a bit confusing the first time but lemmie help. First download the Sonic CD Mod Manager. Then copy all the files into the Sonic CD one. Click on “Mod Manager.” A box will appear and you will see “Install Loader.” Download Sonic CD Restored off Gamebanna. Then you should drag it into the Mods folder that came with the Sonic CD Mod Manager File. Open Mod Manager and click on “Sonic CD Restored.”
Then after that press Save And Play. To add Knuckles, add the “Shields Plus” Mod which adds the Dropdash, Insta Sheild, and Elemental Shields to the game, and the “Sonic CD Restored And Knuckles.” which adds Knuckles to the game. Note: Get the Main Mod or else it will not show up in the Mod Manager!
