I just want to say that I was sad to see TYT fold your channel which I consistently loved and it took me the longest time to find out that y'all were still around in a new format. Fingers crossed this picks up and thanks for hanging in there
I loved this movie. It didn't feel long to me. On the contrary, I savoured each second of it. What Alonso said in the end about it sharing some Antonioni ennui Dna was very accurate. Denis always goes for mood and atmosphere instead of plot, she exposes us to these characters' lives without explanation just like in real life, and as in real life we don't ever know what intentions lie behind everyone's face. Instead she makes us plunge into what can be felt, therefore the only thing actually real. I can't wait to immerse myself again in all of Stars at Noon's sensual glory!
Thanks for another great review! Love it. And love Denis.. But you guys reviewed the wrong Denis movie this year (!!) Both Sides of the Blade is great. Would love to know what you think.
Ah yes, the good 2022 Claire Denis film. Actually got to see this at the Cannes premiere with Denis, Qualley and Alwyn in the audience, as my first ever film premiere. So I'll always have a soft spot for this one no matter it shortcomings.
Hulu, and those commercials!! Yowza! LOL WIth the new Hellraiser movie there were commercials up front then another short break before the midpoint, then no more. But their TV shows feel like almost as many commercials as regular TV which I found surprising! (I only recently signed up, so it's new to me) I'm going to have to adjust! lol I'll check out Stars At Noon. Thanks guys!
I saw this back in July at the New Zealand film festival. I feel it was a mixed bag it had some interesting things going on but it a bit all over the place. Margaret Qualley was so great in though.
There's hardly a video I miss of you guys since WTF days but I sure did miss something in the middle.. Not sure where Matt's at? A short hiatus or branched off completely? :(
This movie is so plodding and inconsistent. It's baffling to me how it won a Cannes award. I much prefer the other Claire Denis movie this year: Both Sides of the Blade. Even with a minimal storyline the actors there are phenomenal and make you feel for them.
I saw the trailer two or three days ago and it was confusing. First it tossed up Hulu logo and than A24 which lead to me wonder why are they now making a straight to streaming movies. Than it was going for this late night erotic tone and once I thought I got what the movie is about the trailer tone changes into sort of a spy thriller leaving me wonder if this movie knew what type of movie it is. Is it a good old fashion slick erotica trash that is trying to fake high brow or just a spy thriller that happens have a little sex?

You're so sweet, thank you! We're hoping the folks at TYT will help us spread the word that we're here. Glad you found us 😊

Love you guys, and as a Claire Denis fan I need to watch this. Thanks.
Thanks Rob! Let us know what you think.

Juliette Binoche is exquisite as always!

Very cool!

Handmaid's Tale definitely has commercials like regular broadcast TV. Thanks Larry!
Thanks for the review!
I liked Denis last movie with Robert Pattinson
High Life, yes! Thanks for watching.

She really is. Thanks for your thoughts!
Any chance you'll do a review of All Quiet on the Western Front? (Netflix)
We can try, thanks for the suggestion! Have you seen it yet?
@@BreakfastAllDay Yes, it's excellent. The music score is kind of strange in certain spots though. I'd be curious to know what you and Alonso think.
I liked it. Margaret Qualley was great!
Always!
"They get naked and sweat a lot" was very funny to me
It's accurate 😄
You must review the movie 'rebel' by adil el arbi and bilal fallah. It's such an impressing movie.
Thanks for the suggestion!

He needed to step away about a year ago. You're nice to ask, though, so thank you.
It's Babadook season
Her mother used to be the "blank one" in movies.
Disagree! She's not blank in sex, lies and videotape.
@@BreakfastAllDay well, James Spader will make anyone look volcanic.
What about Short Cuts? She is heartbreaking in it.
@@blakepatterson7332 Not to me. And don't get me started on Goundhog Day.
One word: Muppets from space.

Both stars are excellent in that.
So, no one else found Qualley's character a bit too callow and unsympathetic for the viewer to rally around?

This movie was ass tbh
Anyone else here because you have no idea what the hell you just watched?
Ha! Were we able to provide some clarity?
"it's not a taylor swift pun" LOL
We gotta educate Alonso 😄
@@BreakfastAllDay totally! haha
