Yeah that's weird given that Bubbie usually knows what the rules are. There are recommended pin placements but as long as it's on the green it's "legal".
the rules are kind of vague but there ARE rules for how to place the pin. Saying there's no such thing as an illegal pin is disingenuous as the USGA states they should not be placed on severe slopes and should be 4-5 paces onto the green. Idk if the pin in this video is violating those rules or not, but there are indeed rules.
@@nutmegandpeach please enlighten all of us as to where to read this rule. There are only recommendations & guidelines as to placing pins and those relate to factors that include slope and proximity to the edge but as long as the hole is on the putting surface it can be placed anywhere.

I have a challenge idea:
1v1v1v1v1….. 18 holes
For every par you get 2 points; birdie is 4 points; eagle 6…
The interesting part would be that if you make bogey your points get cut in half or if you make double or worse your score gets reset to 0 and you have to start all over again.
That means you have to play consistent. That could get a lot of plot twists during the game cause you could birdie 17 holes in a row and double the last one and end with 0 points.
I think that could be so much fun to watch 😄

@bubbie There are no rules about pin placement, so there is no such thing as an illegal pin in golf. A hole can be placed anywhere on the green. However, the USGA does provide guidelines for hole locations, with factors including slope and proximity to the edge of the green. per the official USGA rule book.
Very true! The most annoying part about that was EVERYONE had to play the same hole and not a single one of them cried about it 15 times like bubbie did. Even Kwon pointed out it was the wind that made his ball roll back
