I hope Russian people understand that we Finns do not have any negative feelings against the Russian people, only to the regime of Russia. Me myself know a lot of Russian people that I have met on trips in Russia and you guys are awesome. Hope the Russian people feel the same about the Finnish people. All love and we will get through this.

Fffuck.. Don't be silly.. You guys haaaaate Russians.. With no historical context.. Just they are "subhumans" in the eyes of your germanic oppressors.. And you are desiring to be seen as European.. After a long time of not being considered such by your old masters.. So you hate Russians.. It is pathological.. Not something you would admit to... I would say, that every intellectual person knows, that the Russians aren´t to blame. I often wonder, how we people - different nations - can support Russians to get rid of the Kremlin orcs. I imagine a future, where we all together (with Russians!!!) rebuilt the Ukraine. Feel free to call me a dreamer. I wish, we all would start a movement. The "special peace operation" :-) Greets from Germany.

The young have experienced less propaganda (over less time) and also usually have some other means of accessing western news - so while still subject to those accumulated messages - they at least know they are being lied to by their government & media right now... Yes, there are reasonable and decent human beings in Russia, however there's numerous problems:
      1. They are a minority...as smart people always are in every country.
      2. The majority is uneducated and full of frustration = easy pray for propaganda = brain washed
      3. All of them have been "apoliticized" for all of their lives. Those who'd like to change things, are too afraid or demoralized already.
So as much as I hope that these folks will make a change when it's needed most, I'm pretty sure they will just apathetically watch everything go to sh*t.

What's tragic now is that most of these conscripts are not needed to win the war, but rather to test the will power of the West. Now it will become a war of attrition and will power. Putin is hoping to hold the territory, sacrificing these conscripts hoping that the West will lose the collective will to continue. The coming winter will be Napoleonic for Europe.

Being from Russia and having relatives on both sides of the conflict is, really hard. Sadly, I have relatives that are Azov and multiple in Russian Army. I live in the States now and am upset that both my brother and sister are dead because of this conflict. I really hope people realize Russians are not bad people neither, are Ukrainians. Maybe, different ideology and views but we are all people. Ukraine has been separate from Russia for thirty year and earned their independence. This Operation has killed many good people on both sides. This Operation became personal when my sister and brother died. Forgive me for my English, but I hope people understand I have no ill feeling towards anyone. Enough blood has been spilled on our soils. If old men running the country and world would fight their own wars there wouldn't be any. Why did my brother have to fight in conflict that he wanted no part of, or my sister who was victim from moving to Ukraine for work? This is war, not Operation. Regime needs to absolve.

You can scare people for a time by fabricating an external enemy like Ukranian Nazis or Nato. Eventually however people will get tired of being scared of NATO and they'll be more concerned with why there is no hot water in their house and that their pension isn't enough to live on.

It is a beautiful question, because a special operation in Finland or Sweden is purely speculative and, as such, not such a sensitive topic. That said, nearly all of us can "hear" the interviewees thoughts as they recognize the similar absurdity of a fictitious special operation in Finland or Sweden and the abhorrent reality of the special operation in Ukraine.

I have read that both Finland and Sweden are providing humanitarian aid and weapons to Ukraine, but I don't know how much, and I don't know how far they would go, if the conflict in Ukraine escalates. Now of course, I can’t guarantee you what this guy considers “necessary” to be reasonable, but also you can’t tell anyone that what he considers necessary is inadequate and would result in reason-less military action.
There are always two options in a dispute, compromise or takeover. One is done by talking and negotiating, the other is done by killing and controlling. When two stubborn parties collide, the violent way is bound to rule. Because they don't recognize it as *their* government.
Deep down they regard it as an occupational forces. A foreign entity, a terrorist group that has forcefully taken the power and holds the entire country hostage.
Even those who go out of their way to support every initiative of the government - I feel that they want to serve, to be useful to the power that can crush them in one go.
When you're taken hostage, you do everything that the terrorist says, just to stay alive. When your country is under the foreign rule, you cooperate with the occupants, just to save yourself and your family.

That we are all pretty much the same, concerned with what affects our and our loved ones lives far more than 'what our relationship with Russia/Finland/Sweden/Britain/USA are'. That our leaders obsession with the intentions of everyone elses leaders are not healthy for any of us. As those youngish men said, we're more concerned about hot water and Justin Beiber concerts. - Worst death to civilians and young soldiers since WWII / Stalin
    - Russian citizens often now give guarded answers for fear of imprisonment
    - Russian free press is eliminated

Russia works this way - there is genius, idiots, maniacs and demoralised masses.. The genius creates.. So we get classical music or science or advanced rockets and pioneering space.. The maniacs plot and steal and scheme so you get kgb, nkvd, gru, ect ect and oppression and fear, brutality, the idiots shout and bellow at things that confuse them.. They can rally a mob and burn a man for thinking to much or loot some Palace of the maniacs of its gold and gems.. But they cannot organise and soon fall back to drinking in their filthy huts.. And then there is the oppressed masses who inside yearn for civility but with such companions they cannot quite touch it... The genius Russians never can have power.. Because they are ernest in their persutes of science or art or such.. So it's left to the fools and the maniacs... Or genius maniacs... Even worse.. Or maniac fools.. Also dastardly.. And the apathetic ones.. They can NEVER have power. A strong maniac would just strike them down "SILENCE SHEEP!" such is Russians lot... Being attacked continuously by surrounding countries for many centuries made it so.. Reasonable people were rushed, carried off, sold by invaders, killed.. Maniacs fought tooth and nail like animals.. And fools followed them of the edge into oblivion many times.. So Russia is a product of such pressure.. "evolution" so to say.. The mest example of Russian madness is the ussr.. Its just the way Russia is.. Hard to change.
