- Here is a mastered acapella of Thriller. The acapella that I see on youtube has wayyyyy to much reverb, so I decided to just do it myself with the vocal sessions.

There's no way the common person understands just how talented Michael Jackson really was... I'm almost 40 and I'm still being gradually assimilated into his unnatural level of talent.

I agree. I've been a fan of him since I was 6 years old, started singing myself in my thirties...now I am at a level where I have enough skill to understand what he was doing (but not enough to get even close to it 😁) His techniques are one of a kind. And he blends them all together flawlessly. Maybe one has to sing oneself and try what he's doing, to really witness it in your own experience how difficult what he did actually was. Truly the greatest vocalist that we've ever seen, in my view.
It's hard to really put into words. Without glazing this dude was one of the most talented people in his craft ever. Talk about in the zone.... career speaking lol.
What the hell kind of pretentious BS comment is this? The dude is I think the second highest selling an artist of all time right behind the Beatles. You can't possibly be insinuating that Michael Jackson is " underrated", can you? What could you possibly be basing your opinion on for this comment? Or is it just one of those typical " only me and a select few elite individuals have the intelligence and refined taste to truly understand the extent of this person's talent"?
People don’t understand he did all that with no auto tune and those harmonies are all manual with no effects whatsoever

Man spent hundreds of hours in the recording room making sure every single note in tune. It practically ruined him. If autotune were around when he was alive he'd be all over it.
Auto tune dosent corect singing imperfections it is a stylistic choice and even if auto-tune existed in the 80s he would not have sounded the same with it

Overall, very good. However, I think the “night creatures call” section was pieced together using multiple takes (I do hear the exact enunciation of the word masquerade from vocal take 2, and the rest sounds like it was all from different takes).

I mean pretty much most songs will have spliced takes there was a time they had to record all the way through but that's been long past. And knowing Michael there could've been 100s of takes for this one song.
@@MighterM A set of the multi tracks are floating around online, and there’s 8 different takes (including a scratch vocal). My analysis shows the main body of the song was primarily made with two takes (takes two and seven), and I’m pretty sure part of the bridge contains a small splice from take four.
@@JoeB0y16 Yes Ive heard some of them. Ha youre really listening close I see haha. There were other versions and extras included on the 25th anniversary album, might be the same ones. But even though these takes have been released, I'm certain there are more in the vault. I mean even the backgrounds in the song....every harmony line is double stacked so there are at the LEAST 8 separate vocals tracks just for backgrounds in the final recording! And you can bet there were multiple takes of those tracks too lol. Infact as someone who records songs AND has a love for backgrounds, I know its were most of my time is eaten lol. Im not a fan of melodyne OR autotune so I do it the old school way LOL

Why did you change the tempo? The key is a bit to high
The tempo was changed in the release. I intended to do that to match the tempo change, but obviously I didn't get the exact speed change. It's really only for listening purposes tbh
