Hello Wayne. I have been looking all over the place for a review on this cam. Your review and video is just top notch and above manufacturer grade. Thank you. I'm going to be using this as a second camera on a drone.
Hey thanks for the kind words Ron. Yes, the Victure AC940 is a very good camera, but due to it's waterproof, metal case construction it tends to be heavier than most other action cameras and may not be the best choice (weight wise) for use on a drone.
When I did a search for this camera I was excited to find that Wayne with TheOneCanoe had a review on it, because I love the reviews that he makes, thanks for reviewing this camera I think you sold me on it.

First of all the review is amazing, understood everything about it. One question though, when you say tripod adjustments, do I have to already own a tripod to use them, or can they make a diy tripod from all the gear included in the box?

This is a GREAT review! You are obviously an above average photographer, but I feel like most people can use this camera. I came here to see if it had image stabilization and I thank you for demonstrating it. The stabilization doesn't work as good as the $400 camera, but you can't beat the price.

Thanks very much for the review and sample shots. Have you tried the micro HDMI output capabilities at all? I'm interested in this camera to provide a fixed wide shot, as part of a multi-camera setup, in live theatre streaming. This not only requires HDMI, but a clean image and output at 1080p, with the ability to switch off auto power-off. Sorry for lots of questions, but sounds like you have explored this camera in detail and may know.

Thanks. For the price this is a very well featured camera. It’s certainly no GoPro Hero 9, but considering the cost, it performs extremely well.

HI wayne.Great reviews.I purchased this camera last week,and I noticed a lot of my menu options are grayed out.I am new to this,and could use some help.I haven't been able to find a firmware update which I thought might help.
Having some menu options grayed out is normal...it all depends on what other settings are in place. For instance when shooting a Timelapse, you cannot engage EIS or Loop Record or Slow Motion Movie, so those options are grayed out. Another common one on a lot of these action cameras is...if EIS is turned on, the Distortion Calibration cannot be engaged and is therefore grayed out as a default.
I’m new to action cameras . Can you turn them off and they pick right back up like the old fashion recorders use to ? Lol I know probably dumb question but like I say I’m new !!

No, this camera has no zoom function, but overall performance wise, it is definitely one of the better action cameras I have reviewed. I hope you will be pleased with it.
Great review, as always. I currently use a Victure AC820 but I'm considering upgrading to the AC940. One of the options I like on the 820 is the ability to 'turn off' the microphone so that the camera records without sound. Does the 940 have this feature as well? T
Yes, you can turn the audio record 'off' on the Victure AC940.

Yes, I’m currently reviewing the XTU action camera, and in my opinion it is a very capable camera. 0f all the budget action cameras I’ve used, the XTU probably comes closest to mimicking the features and quality that you would associate with a GoPro camera.

I’m testing/reviewing the XTU X1. As far as I can tell, that’s the only model they currently make, at least it’s the only model showing on their web site, however I do see a reference to an X2 model on their Facebook page, so not really sure what is being produced right now.
Hi, I have a question, recently bought this camera, and sometimes the camera just freezes, and I can't do anything apart from retiring the battery, anybody else having the same problems?
One of the problems of these cameras, is that the tripod mount is right next to the battery door, so if anything is attached to the mount, you can't open the door. If you wanted to attach a quick release mount, you would still need to unscrew it every time you needed to change the battery.

I record audio using a digital audio recorder (ZOOM H1), then I synchronize the audio with the video when I edit.

Yes, I would recommend this camera. I think it's a very durable camera, it's waterproof and the quality of the video and audio is very good. I think this is the best camera made by Victure.

Great review 😀, I'm looking forward to buy my first action camera and I'm very interested in this model. I have two questions. 1) How long does the battery last if I leave it recording, 30 min, 1 hr, 2 hrs, etc. 2) How long it takes to charge that depleted battery. Thank you
In my tests, recording 1080-30 video, I was able to continuously record for 2 hrs, 18 min. and 23 sec. on a fully charged battery. According to the user manual it takes 3-4 hours to fully recharge the battery.

Thanks for watching. It's a great little camera. For sure, this is Victure's best action camera so far. The app is called iSmart DV, Unfortunately, the app listed in the user manual is incorrect because it's spelled wrong.

I'm thinking in buying an action camera, but I'm not sure which one between the "campark v40" that you reviewed like a month ago and this one "victure ac940".

That's a tough one. They both are good cameras. They are both waterproof. I really like the front viewscreen on the Campark V40, BUT I'd have to say the Victure AC940 produced slightly better video quality overall. However, either one is a good choice. They are both durable, well made cameras.

Some of these cameras don’t have hinges at all, just a plastic cover that snaps off and can easily get lost. I too appreciate the finer details of a better built camera.

No, have not used that particular camera.
This camera comes with any internal storage or sd card or I have to buy one to test all the features?
This camera requires a MicroSD memory card for storage. It does not come with one.
Congrats for the review, do you now why EIS is gray on my camera menu and it is not possible to turn on? Thank you.
It depends on what other camera settings are active. For instance, the EIS does not function at high frame rates, so it will not work on 720-120, 720-240, or 1080-120fps. Also it does not work if camera is set to slow motion or timelapse. Also, it does not work if distortion calibration is turned on.

Looking at this camera and the 920 that you also reviewed it appears the 920 has a magnifying glass icon with a + and a - for digital zoom. Is there no digital zoom on this one? Also, do you happen to know if you can get clean HDMI out on either of these models? Thanks!
No, the Victure AC940 has no 'extra' lens settings, just the single ultra wide-angle lens with a 170 degree field of view. Yes the Victure AC920 has a feature they call an 8X zoom, but it is NOT a zoom in the true sense of the word, but instead it is 8 different digital focal lengths, and honestly they are not very good quality once you get past the 3X or 4X setting. (kind of a yous less gimmick in my opinion)

My Friend does it come with an open housing Mount just like to know because I have a GoPro chest strap and I like to hook it on there and have the good sound without the waterproof housing mount do you know they sell one and maybe give me a link if you can I appreciate it
Yes, it comes with adapters so it is compatible with all your GoPro mounts including the chest harness.

All video is unaltered. No colour correction applied. No, this camera does not have an external mic. Connection.

Yes, there is a waterproof case included with this camera.
60 fps was unusable but the 30fps wasn't bad considering the $80 they are going for on amazon right now. Tempting considering the next step up is the osmo action for $200...
Yes, I was very pleased with the results at 30 fps. This seems to be a very rugged, well built camera. I love the fact that it is waterproof. It is one of the better low-cost cameras I have tested. Well worth the money in my opinion.
What memory card do you use in this camera?
SanDisk Ultra PLUS 64GB class 10.
I can't find the Iphone app for this camera need some help.
Probably because they misspelled it in the user manual. It’s called iSmartDV and I just checked - it is available in the Apple App Store as a free download. It looks like there is also a newer version (iSmarDV2) but I have not tried that one yet.

It's not waterproof as it is it comes with a waterproof case. Question from Amazon the developers have answered that's where I got the information and the web
The camera (without the underwater housing) IS waterproof down to a depth of 5 meters, so no housing required for swimming or getting caught on a rainstorm. To go deeper, you need to put the camera inside the submersible waterproof hosing which will allow you to take it down to a depth of 40 meters.

Ah yes, it seems a lot of these action cameras look identical. I theorize that perhaps many are made in the same factory and ‘re-branded’ and distributed to multiple companies. .. only a theory.
