Yo! That was me game 1! 😮 That was a fantastic game, I only won because of going second. The warriors are an absolute menace and I literally just had to ignore them after a while and focus somewhere else since nothing I could do would affect them. Glad I found your channel!
Hey Kilen, thanks for the breakdown, I believe this one was one of the most useful videos from you that I've seen so far, nice job! Also, congrats for the performance on the GT! Please let us know about how you implement the changes from the conclusions you draw here, I'd love to see this list evolving and you adjusting both the list and your tactics & playstyle to try to maximize its performance. Also, I would love to see a similar format for your starshatter list (and maybe other detachments too) where you try a few matches, come back to us with an analysis and conclusions, you do the changes to the list and repeat. It doesn't have to be a GT experience, maybe a small tournament or some competitive styled friendly matches. The deployment videos were also nice. Maybe you could also do some "how to tackle meta armies" type of videos, what can crons do against the ultramarines or death guard more in detail, what do you think are their nastiest units and how to handle them, what are the top combos for each of our detachments that also work competitively. Keep up the awesome work, thank you again!
Really appreciate the support and the feedback! Not sure when I will go back to Starshatter as I am currently prepping for a big team tournament next month.
@ thanks for the reply! Alright, good luck with the preparation, hope that we can follow you along the way, as some sort of live preparation for an event 😎
Yo great content again! Some questions come to mind, and since you're my number 1 source for Necrons (wish I had someone for black Templar like you 😅) I hope u don't mind answering: 1. wraiths behind walls, are they shootable? We play with 1st floor is closed. 2. Could you so a short video for warriors? I see that I should string them, but with casualties and removing models it's quite difficult to navigate them I find. I'm quite unsure how to position them as well as what their DMG output is etc.. sequencing correctly against them is key so I would love to hear examples when to pop reanimate and so on. 3. What's the command barge for exactly?
Thank you, yes Wraiths are hidden behind wall. Warriors are a very tricky unit to play, their roll is definitely not dmg though, +1 oc on everything and Rez orb makes warriors 60 OC
@PNW40K I guess you mean the command barge makes the 3 OC, I've completely missed that 😅 and the wraiths are shootable or not, because of the rule? Are you playing with walls give LoS block? Really appreciate it!
I really hope that one of the next new models we get (as far off as that might be) is something that can lead flayed ones. Having that extra synergy with all of the insanely good strats on awakened dynasty with the detachment rule would make flayed ones pop off even harder.
I gotta say i kinda like your list. Szeras is a beast! Especially in this standard detachment where you can revive him. I like the double Reanimator, Warriors and i m a huge fan of the Skorpekh Lord. They can mess things up! Last time i used one, he lost his buddies after they blended something and then the next 2 rounds the Lord went sicko mode and on a cazy rampage! He made 2 long bomb charges of 11 inches, and did 5 and 6 mortals wounds on the charge, killing units before i even got to his weapon profiles, therefor consolodating is nearby targets and killing them too. Thats right, 2 11 inch charges and then twice a 6 on the MW bomb for D3+3 and i rolled a 5 and a 6. He was increadibly effective and robbed my opponent from so many secondary and primary points, i was kinda in shock. Sure i got super lucky but sill, that boy can put out some dmg and i think i will always bring at least a solo one like you did from here on out.
Great recap. Did you ever considder changing which unit the cryptothralls joined prior to any game? Also did you run the Skorpekh Lord solo in a game or two?
Was thinking at the start of this video that this list might struggle into Death Guard or really killy melee lists like World Eaters that can easily kill the warrior brick in one combat. I miss the days when Hypercrypt was our best detachment. The movement was so helpful against our natural predators.
@@PNW40KThanks for the quick response! So if I've understood correctly: - 1x Lokhust Lord - 3x Lokhust Heavy Destroyers + 1x Hexmark Destroyer + 5x Flayed Ones + 3x Skorpekh Destroyers (bringing the brick up to 6) If I've added it up correctly, it equals 1955 points. Do we get 3 Scarabs for 40 points bringing the list total up to 1995 points? Who do we select as the Warlord?
That death guard player was really able to take advantage of your lack of shooting! Was just standing out in the open with bricks of terminators because they didn't have to fear DDAs...
Ive not listened yet but I played twice today against Death Watch. 20 warriors with Orikan, Res Orb and a nearby Reanimator died in ione shootging phase to one unit...Five terminators with Cyclone missile launchers, anti-infantry 2+ and Oath... 20 warriors simply dissolve. I hope there are few other armies that can do that! I am at a 500 player teams event this weekend...I will let you know how I get on.
Thats just the issue with stat check listbuilding. It was exactly the issue with warriors with the necron index at the beginning of the edition. If your opponent can kill your warrior/lychguard bricks in one activation, you lose. If they cant, you win. Boring!
Thousand sons can also kill warriors easily with flamers, dev wouds and mortals. When playing this unit you really need to make sure you screen out this king of horde killers or try to kill them before exposing your warriors.
How did one unit do this? Im simulating the results and that should kill 10 models on average with a less than 0.5% to one shot 20 warriors with the characters? you must have been insanely unlucky sorry!
@Mooncows I don't know if you took regular Termis or the Kill Team Termis, wich can have 3 cyclones for a 5 man unit, with sustained hits from the detachement rule, hellfire rounds for anti infantry 2+ and you add oath of moment in the mix. I did a quick math on mathhammer and I have an average of 68% killing 12-18 models with only the cyclones frag, then add 5 storm bolters in rapid fire range with all this buffs too and you have 68% chances to kill 8-12 models
Mate you are losing games cause you can’t kill anything. With all the bells and whistles and support units that warrior blob is costing you about 900 points…. Warriors 200 Orikan 80 Bounce lord 85 Stealth Casket 20 Reanimator 75 Reanimator 75 Crypto Thralls 60 Szeras 175 Catacomb Barge 120 Half your army to hold one objective really good. I think the core concept is fine. The fixation on making the unit impossible to kill is actually retarding people taking shots at it Also, this OC fixation is weird. If you have 10-20 warriors on the point… you have 20-40 OC. What does a catacomb barge giving you 30-60 OC actually do?
@PNW40K Just found your channel the other day, and as someone who's always struggled with 40k strategy this is an absolute goldmine. I don't know if you've given any thought to 1K lists, but as someone who's just getting back into 10th and playing smaller games rn, do you have any thoughts on what you would bring at that points level? Fastest subscribe of my life, by the way. Keep up the great work.
Really appreciate the kind words! I would run a small Awakaned list, start with Zarus, two skorpeks lord and two units of skorpeks and then fill from there would be a good start

Lets go! haha nah man you played it well, I think it would of been worse if you went first. The warriors shocked me this weekend. Glad you here man!
I love all your videos bro. I hope you have a lot of success growing the channel, top quality content
Thank you! Glad you are here!
As a new player, this was an awesome breakdown! Thanks so much, you’ve earned a new sub from me!
Really appreciate it! Glad you are here!

It is a very interesting list to play with lots of options!
Great recap.
Did you ever considder changing which unit the cryptothralls joined prior to any game? Also did you run the Skorpekh Lord solo in a game or two?
Most of the time its warriors because it skews the math, 3+ save plus extra wounds when allocated to them
Was thinking at the start of this video that this list might struggle into Death Guard or really killy melee lists like World Eaters that can easily kill the warrior brick in one combat. I miss the days when Hypercrypt was our best detachment. The movement was so helpful against our natural predators.
yea I miss hypercrypt a lot, but cant come up with a list that makes sense for me
Love your content! So for list changes, is it just adding the Flayed Ones back in?
@@chrishogan2699 dropping Lokust brick with lord and adding in more skorpeks, flayed ones, hexmark
@@PNW40KThanks for the quick response!
So if I've understood correctly:

It was rough
36:54 you’d hope so since they are almost half your army

@anrakyr3028 strange I did the same on unit crunch with everything stated and get 10 average kills. Maybe I entered it wrong
Mate you are losing games cause you can’t kill anything.

Warriors 200

Definitely not very killy in certain matchups, But command barge gets you the extra orb
40 warrior list went 5-1 at LVO so im excited for them to come back
Can you post it please?
They are a bare to deal with
