Hi. Hope you’re doing ok during this strange C19 ‘pandemic’. Can I ask, would you use Matrix for sending live band mix and a talk to Zoom and/or YT live streaming? We are just sorting the set up out at the mo. Sends out are what we are using for Zoom etc, and FOH for the actual venue. Thanks

there are a number of ways to use the outputs of the mixer to control certain things... using a Matrix is nice because you can send the FOH (front of house) mix as it is to the matrix but also add to that matrix some audience mics, or maybe an announcer mic that would not be heard in the sound system.

Hi Dan , I need to pick your brains if I may regarding the Mackie master fader 4 please .
I’ve set up a view group for the Band & effects but wondered how I go about putting monitor mixes on the same view page so that they’re all visible on said page.

Hi Ian, I no longer own or use any Mackie gear, but the video I made shows how to use the view groups. You pick what is displayed for each view group.

Thanks for the tutorial. Do you know Master Fader 5? I just bought a DL16S, it’s my first digital mixer and I’m learning a lot with you

Isn't your "Mute All" setting the same as simply tapping the mute button on the MAIN fader? I never made use of the mute groups before, but you have given me some good ideas. I have set up an "ALL" mute group that includes the stage monitors and the effects.

Hi Paul, hitting the LR mute will not mute any of the monitors on stage or subwoofers. When it is break time, I hit the "BREAK" mute master. The lead vocalist's mic is not part of this "BREAK" mute master and therefore remains on so that emergency announcements can be made, the break music is also not muted.

Yes, I understand but the "All" mute selections at 3:28 in the video do not include the monitor or subwoofer. That's why I say it seems to be merely duplicating the function of the LR mute. But I did get your point and I took your idea to make an "ALL" mute group and a "BREAK" mute group that include the monitor mixes. Thanks again.

"That's why I say it seems to be merely duplicating the function of the LR mute.".....
I never mute the monitor outputs or subwoofer output. There is no need to mute those if all the inputs are muted :) Muting the Main LR only mutes the main LR.

You're right, of course. Sitting at home, away from the PA, I was thinking the channel mutes were only for the FOH mix but I was forgetting all those times when the singers complained because I had left the mute on their mics and they were not in the monitor mix. :-)

easy to get confused when we have all these possibilities :) Personally I am grateful for the features that this platform has... just amazing, especially for the price. My DL32R will be four years this coming November.
