  • I've recently moved to a new area in Japan, very close to the sea, where I am able to enjoy quick fishing sessions during my lunch break and after work.
    Here, I am light rock fishing targeting small groupers and rock fish. The most common fish in this part of Japan is the Yellow Spotted Rock Cod aka Areolate Grouper.
    I hope you enjoy this video!

    I have the 7’2 Apia Grandage and a 6’9 Xesta Blackstar and these rods have made ultralight fishing fun and really connect you with the water

    Han this place is a dream come true. Just discovered your channel !
    I am trying to organize a trip to Japan for October/November.
    I wanna start from Tokyo and travel down to Kagoshima.
    I find it hard to find some good cities where I can stop and fish mainly for seabass and light and ultra light fishing.
    Could you help me out and give out some hints..? Thx in advance , greetings from 🇮🇹

      Hi, thanks for watching! The fishing and available species differs quite a bit in the different regions of Japan. For Seabass fishing I recommend trying around river mouths. For light and ultra light, most fishing harbors and the surrounding area are pretty good. Local tackle shops would be able to give you the best advice for the area you're in!

    Hi, do you know what species to target at a particular time of year when fishing inshore ( surf, jettys,piers etc.) in Japan. I have been told that now ( May) the seabass are too small and too few. I usually fish at Inage Beach in Chiba City. Tks

    • @hanjapanfishing
      @hanjapanfishing  Рік тому +1

      Hi, thanks for your comment. I'm not sure what species are in season in Chiba as it is a little different down here where I am located in Mie. I usually use this app called "anglers", and search by prefecture/area to see what other anglers around me are currently catching. Hope it helps!

      @@hanjapanfishing Thanks for the info.! Indeed, there are lots of places for fishing!! How can I get there from Tokyo? Through Shinkansen to Nagoya and then take another local train/bus?

    • @hanjapanfishing
      @hanjapanfishing  Рік тому +1

      @@Jay-el9iw It's best to use a rental car as public transport is quite limited here, but yes, you can take a Shinkansen and local train too. If you are taking the train, you can try Kashikojima station in Shima City or Kii-Nagashima station in Kihoku Town!
