Just stumbled on this video. Gonna watch the rest to see how it goes! Couple days ago I bought a Syngonium White Butterfly as a rehab project. So far so good!! Perking up already
You smacking the rhizome is the funniest thing ever!!😂 I'm so paranoid about critters and weird things in my soil. I would've tossed the plant across the room🫣🤣
Yesterday I pulled out a HUGE Snake plant from a dumpster (looks great) along with 2 Calathea orbifolia which are both in a bad way I'm hoping they will survive.
Isn't it funny how you went looking for sad plants - usually in ABUNDANCE at big box stores, and you find so many gorgeous ones! Go figure😅 Good luck! Made my own rescue project 😢 Forgot about a new, small variegated peace lily which got lost behind a couple of aglaonemas that decided to have a growth spurt in winter! 😫
I’ve got a couple rehabs I bought last April. One from Lowe’s and one from Home Depot. I got a golden pothos. It was very wilted and has never grown very well. I found out that the three branches were basically sticks stuck in dirt. No roots in two of them. One is in perlite and water and it has roots on it now. I need to plant it back in the pot and check the other stick and see if it’s grown any roots. It may go into perlite if it’s got no roots. Then I should have a really nice plant. It came in a great wicker container in natural and teal. My living room colors.
I do the same thing and buy rehab plants for something to do and to try new plants. None have died on me yet but I have a Fittonia that seems stunted. My latest is a monstera Peru in a very nice pot for $5. The nursery piled up the soil and caused the vines to start rotting so I scraped off a bunch of soil and cut off the worst vines to water propagate. Hope they turn out as well as your golden goddess.
Yea I always love a little project sometimes.. nice deal on that Peru! I haven’t tried fittonias yet but they’re soo pretty..I find starting over with water propagating is usually really successful.. hope it bounces back. thanks for sharing and feel free to keep me updated!
I've saved a few plant babies on grocery trips. They cry out for help 😢 and I must save them if they're not too far gone. The pothos seem to bounce back faster for me though 🧐
Its a rhizome 😂😂😂😂. I just repurchased a birds nest Fern and some zz's i really need another raven and zensi but they are hard to find i want a philodendron selom bcus mine got huge then died. Im finding these stupid growers are putting death plugs on the plants and your plants is dead by the time you realize it. I'm way up north in northern NY near Canada we RARELY have clearance 5 and under. They'd rather throw them away and get a write off than give them away or give anything off. But i do a lot of cuttings and do barter system with ppl. This summer 2025 i will try and organize a plant/cutting swap wish list event. I know this video is old but i plan on rehabbing my monster's by combining cuttings ive rooted and starting completely over with one that got leggy and runners. So, ill have a few plant projects 😊 this Fall. It can get down to -19 here so i dont wanna stress my babies out.
Nice! I look little plant projects for the winter..you be surprised how much plants still grow through the winter..especially with the way we keep plants these days
Firstly u no yor plants . And they always look healthy . And great luv them . Secondly u made me laugh so much 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Wen u said wat is that on the calathia plant I bet u thoute they was slugs 🐛🐛🐛🐛 .this is how I am I inspect every thing that's on leaf and in earth . Thank god them balls belong to roots .🤣👍😇🙏
Great idea. I recently purchased a Teddy Bear Vine at Smiths in Las Vegas. I have been wanting this plant for months and whenever I go visit my mom they always have them at her local grocery store. I didn’t get it a few months because my mom was judging me… 😂. So I got it when I went this last time. I even attempted to order this plant online but I didn’t want to pay the same price for a smaller plant. When I picked it up, it was a lil sad. I cut a lot of it back and am propagating some in soil and some in water. I watered it and sprayed it down. I was looking at it today and it has started perking up. The vines are searching for the light. Can’t wait to see what that dumb cane do.
lol not mom judging 🧐😂 but i love that plant I jus never knew the name I had to look it up jus now 😂 but I’m happy to hear it’s perking up🙌🏽 sometimes propagation is the best way to rehab by jus starting fresh. My dumb cane did perk up after a few days in water soo I potted it up into soil and then it dropped most it’s leaves🙃 but it looks like it’s putting out a new leaf 🙌🏽
Awesome but I’ll make it cheaper. Im going to join in rehabbing plants, but my own that are waiting in the garage for spring… some alocasia and calathea. 🤣❤️
@Plants & Tings Not great. Idk what I'm doing. 🫣I "created" a soil mix, again with nothing but UA-cam knowledge and she looks pitiful. I'm hoping it's minor shock and she will snap out of it. Still green but a little saggy😒
@@lhill93 aww no worries rehabs need lots of light and time..pop it right under a grow light or next to a bright window..also Alocasias aren’t super picky with soil because they like to stay consistent slightly moist
It's almost summer in South Africa but I have recently purchased a Philodendron Jungle Boogie. Its in really bad shape as most of the plants foliage was damaged iand had to be removed. Growth point was also damaged. It was the last 1, and my dumba$$ did not ask for a discount 😒 but I am hoping I can nurse it back to its former glory. I should have bought it the first few times I saw it in the store, I knew chances were slim that they would get it back in stock due to Christmas plants, cos I try my best not to buy rehab plants lol.
Oh wow that does sound like a tough one but I hear jungle boogies are pretty resilient..I usually never buy rehabs either but I figure why not try something new😂🤷🏽♀️ highly recommend asking for a discount cuz they jus gonna throw it out anyways.. but keep me updated on IG with how it’s going thanks for sharing🙌🏽
Feel free to tag me on your stories or dm me on IG @plants_n_tings and I’ll add it my rehab highlights

@@PlantsNTings oh, I lied. I bought two little calathea in 2 inch pots that didn’t make it. But really, they didn’t have much of a chance.
Try the scindapsis
😆 I get mad when I’m scared too! Just realized that while watching your video!

Idk if I can handle rehabbing plants but great approach! 👏🏽
It can be stressful

I just picked up an alocasia silver dragon from Walmart...clearance $5 ... in a white ceramic pot🎉🎉
