Y&R was a strong acting soap but Guiding Light and AMC had them beat this decade. AMC was actually starting to rebound big time before it got cancelled. Though the acting was still lacking the writing got much better because they were finally using the vets. They got cancelled because of who was in charge of ABC Daytime.
