LOL i never ever consider soundbars, owned some of them. The gimmick of sound bouncing of the sides and ceilings are such a gimmick and will never match up with actual satellite speakers. People nowadays rather sacrifice audio quality and experience for stupid soundbars for convenience and minimalistic
@@EternalShana Yes, crazy I know, some people(most) don't want actual speaker boxes all over the place with wires and all. The vast majority of people want something that looks nice, sounds nice and is clean. The latest Samsungs like the Q930b or Q990b are amazingly capable and more than adequate for the population at large.
A lot of audiophile channels have popped up recently, some of them are really good too. But Caleb here is showing why heis the king of audio/video reviews. Take lessons people. Prefect reviews. Congrats on 1 mil subs, such a good channel.
You said the sub is going to 35hz. But later you said you need a sub for movies? I understand that you are getting paid for this, but be consistent with the script. 35hz is very low and as you getting older you are starting to hear less and less from lows and highs. If you want good, natural sounding experience just buy studio monitors.
😂 “step aside sound bars “ yea sure maybe if you’re in your 20’s in a studio. Tell my clients they can’t use a soundbar for their tv above the fireplace. 😂🤣
Great review on these. I have the B&W S2 Anniversary 606s running into a Sonos Amp on my console gaming setup in my bedroom. Best possible setup to game, movie watch and of course music. But, using the Sonos app can connect to many other rooms and run it all from cell phone, alexa, etc. these look sweet! I actually really like that front display, it does take a way from symmetry and the clean look, but I like the vibes it gives off.
Meh, not too long ago you were really impressed with a mere Klipsch setup. Maybe you need to visit some proper home theatre setups with JTR, Triad, Focal with Trinov processor, so that you can get an idea of reference level audio. I love your TV reviews but please don’t judge speakers like soundbars.
Dynaudio XEO 10 these are my best speakers. Bass 40hz no subwoofer needed. Optical, bluetooth, aux, hi res audio. No cable between the speakers. Check them out People the sound is awsome. 2x130 wat rms. Build in amplifier. 💥💯💥
Seriously? Are you kidding me? Full size monitors sitting direct on a desktop..! With No isolation pads, no acoustic treatment... Giving you sub region with "authority"?! My poor JBL 3 series monitors without sub can reach 40hz without braking a sweat but obviously with the help of panels and stands...

I'm using Polk es35 center channel speaker as my right and left channel. Slim, shadow, with wide bandwidth. Two jbl 550p 10" subwoofers. Powered by smsl vmv a2. I want to replace my 550p with 3000 micros.
I agree with you re not liking the display and controls on the front, it makes the right speaker look cluttered and it bugs me quite a bit that the left and right speakers look different! For that reason I also agree with your regrets about not going for black. At least in black the display and controls wouldn't be quite as obvious. Maybe SVS could actually fix this by offering an alternative right speaker grill as an optional accessory that obviously would have the same fixing points as the standard one but the grill frame and fabric would go all the way down to the bottom of the cabinet instead of stopping just above the display. As long as the knobs on the rotary buttons can be pulled off then it should hide the display and controls at the bottom completely and make them look like "normal" speakers.
I'm happy to see SVS still making good stuff. I bought one of the first subwoofers they made, back in the early 2000's. The cylinder subs that looked like a water heater and used a separate amp (not built into the sub). That thing was a beast, used it in my home theater for many years.
Another great review, thanks Caleb! I'm loving these speakers. I actually rock The Fives with my Sony A80J and I love them. A comparison with those and this SVS system could be interesting!
I wish i had know about this product 2 months ago. I have been searching for a speaker then that had both HDMI eARC and Airplay 2 built in. I bought a Klipsch The Fives for my living room TV and wanted something like this for my bedroom. I now have two speakers from Klipsch, R41M and R41PM with former attached to a TV while latter is attached to a Airplay receiver. This could have saved a lot of clutter. But I enjoy the klipsch sound and even with two product, they are cheaper than SVS Prime Wireless pro in Canada. Oh well.
Adding this to my darn collection of Sonos + Anthony galo + a/d/s old towers my dad left me. Great i need help, cause i been wasting too much on speakers and headphones.
the front speaker controls should just be a separate box that you could place underneath a speaker OR flip around and face it backwards (for aesthetics) OR place someplace else like at the center, in a cabinet, etc. Basically, like a tiny AVR.
You're absolutely right on the face controls, they make sense on a studio monitor but not for a living room setup. I would've put the display on the top for bettter ergonomics, you're most likey to be stood above the speaker when you make adjustments in that scenario and obviously the asthetics would have been better too
Thanks for a thorough review Caleb. This looks like just what I need for my living room where I have a small area for speakers so this would fit just right. While its nice to have the Play-Fi streaming option, with the HDMI input I can also use the Tidal app on my Samsung TV so we can keep using the TV remove for tv, movies, UA-cam and Tidal music. With that kind of convenience, my wife will buy into this,
I bought a Sony HT-A9 based in part on your positive review. Boy am I disappointed! It sounds like a cheap piece of crap and the interface was made by associates of the devil himself. So your excitement leaves me cold. I only have so much money to throw away on terrible reccomendations. 👎😤

It’s wayyyyyyy too much work for some people to do that….. apparently Now, that said some people like DIY and some don’t and it’s ok In life you always get out how much time and effort you put into something and if you’ll always get charged more if you let others do things for you
Let's start with a big ?? for anyone that posits that ANY DAC is lossless. Lossless does not exist in the analog to digital world. There is still waveform between 192 bit samples. Period. End of Story. This is why true audiophiles use vinyl. You also don't get a real 50 watt amplifier in a box that size. A REAL amp requires a huge transformer wound with COPPER, otherwise a Marshal would be the size of an MP3 player. BTW, I had killer home theater before most people had even heard the term, including Dolby Surround from my Yamaha Natural Surround (best DAC, ever, bar none, then or now) connected to a CAV Laser Disk. Yeah, technology that existed before Bozo in the video was born. Bottom line it: For engines, there is no replacement for displacement. For speakers, there is no replacement for (wait for it) SPEAKERS. Quality being equal, a 12" woofer, a couple 5" mid range and a separate tweeter in a large, free standing unit will ALWAYS outshine any tiny little puke speaker. Period. Sound is moving air, want more and better sound, move more air. You move more air with bigger speakers. Wireless anything (Bluetooth, WiFi, IR) all introduce LAG. Even the speed of light is finite and the need to decode and translate wireless technology all introduces phase issues. Its physics. Not to mention all that free roaming EM radiation plays merry hell with your health. (looked at the exponential increase in brain cancer since the advent of cell phones?) Moving a speaker cone requires energy and the BEST conductor you can reasonably use is THICK COPPER cable. HDMI is too thin to conduct significant amounts of power without cross talk, the insulation is too thin, in too compact a form factor and with too little actual copper. And, btw, tubes ROCK, transistors suck and facts are facts.
Why do the Klipsch products you have, have dodgy fabric finish quality. Are they like that typically, or just something happened through your ownership?
wow, you are right they are almost a mirror image to my fives. only thing is woofer is 5.5 vs my 4.5 on fives. i use a rel sub and it is a killer for movies and good music listening. NBR hifix audio listening really comes across on these systems. Blue tooth works cool with my iwatch. not your grandpas music anymore lol
Caleb great job again, I am surprised you 😢speak sad on the best speakers (price-performance) PC speakers. I think you should look at the best 2.0-5.1 pc speaker’s from the likes of Altec Lansing, Logitech, Alienware, Bose, Creative Sound Blaster, Cambridge SoundWorks. They pump some great ranges for the cost and only 10% of people would not go for these after a sound test. You’re welcome for the next throwback episode idea for a 2 part micro series. 😊
A thousand bucks without the subwoofer. Crikey! I don't think my entire Polk 5.1 system with sub and my Denon AVR add up to that. And how are these things "wireless", they have to have AC power, a power connector cord to the other speaker, a wired audio or hdmi input, etc. And what is the wifi/ethernet for? Online streaming aka Pandora/Spotify etc? Also looks like the sub requires a wired connection as well. Only thing lacking is the AVR/amplifier.
I am building a house but can't wire for rear (ear level) speakers for 5.1.4 Dolby Atmos. I have 4 ceiling speakers already wired, but the layout doesn't allow for wired rear surround, so I want to get your opinion on a wireless rear speakers solution, and how to hook them up to say an RZ50 or Denon 3800. Love your channel as you have already solved some of my connection issues.
Audio Pro A36. HDMI, toslink, sub-out, Spotify, app for bass and treble adjustment and even metal remote. There is so much more solutions than these youtubers will ever admit.
I'm looking for a pair studio monitors with neutrality with no dsp at all or a pair of studio monitors that have the same sound signature as my 1997 sennheiser hd 600 headphones, I use the sennheiser hd 600 as my daily driver even when I'm gaming. I have the harmon kardon sb16 soundbar but I'm looking to upgrade to a pair of studio monitors. I have the harmon kardon subwoofer set to flat and on my 65 inch curve qled TV from samsung and I have the audio to pcm.
Just if they weren’t so ugly… at the price I’m expecting a wood option or at least non-gloss finishes. That and magnetic grills. Make them look better so my wife would be okay-ish about them sitting in the living room and I’d buy a set.
I hate that white sound bars are so rare. I get black for a man cave, but if it’s a man cave, get real speakers. For a more typical living room, white is far more appropriate and wife-friendly.
I never buy something white... so really hard for me choose this despite all the great performance, they look too much gaming alike and I hate everything with gaming look
Listen the last version of these were not really great. The speakers are bigger but how better. Plus they are expensive. Plus if you need a subwoofer looking at a grand!!! Wtf
listening to someone telling how good these speakers sound is like listening to someone telling how good this wine is i never tasted before. i now know how good you find it, but it may be awfull for me
The cable linking the speakers should have had a more generic connector. SVS should make a marine version of this set. Perfect for outside use and in bathrooms, saunas etc etc.
Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪! You should try the Brand Nubert XS Series! Have a look next time they have a big variety of wireless speakers even a soundbar called Nubert XS 8500. This is incredible! CU on your next Videos! Ciao Lars and a I like your Videos!
Caleb, how would you feel about these being used for a PC Speaker System setup? I am looking at this, the KEF LSX, and passive speakers like Bowers or MartinLogan, but I just can't seem to find a best bang for the buck. This SVS Powered pair seems to be the win-win though.
Who would've thought that an alternative to soundbars would be ACTUAL SPEAKERS!!!
What a world we live in!!

As I've asked many months ago, will the 1 Million subs giveaway be North America only or World Wide?
How about the PB-16 unboxing and review in the future from SVS?
I can't decide between these and the HECATE Edifier G5000.
Which would you choose?
I would have liked it better if you had played tracks from different genres and let us judge the output. After all it's a audio device review.😀
How can two bookshelf speakers replace a sound bar. I cannot wallmount them under my tv. If I can still it’s not gonna sit flush on the wall.
No thanks I like soundbar better ,sounds great and looks better then the old style speakers in this video, what next big tube tvs from the past too.
How is SPEECH INTELLIGIBILITY when watching movies and TV shows?
Wireless systems are a joke as they will ALWAYS have a delay compared to their wired counterparts.
How does it compare to the Non-Pro version?
Because there is no PRO version available in my entire country!
Can you also review offering from Yamaha brand? They are world leaders in musical instruments and lots of other yamaha audio devices
Disappointed, no sound demo :|
So if I add these to my Sony X90J these will work together with my TV speakers?
Soundbars are bs. Would rather have a couple of semi decent bookshelf speaker instead any day.
listening to someone telling how good these speakers sound is like listening to someone telling how good this wine is i never tasted before. i now know how good you find it, but it may be awfull for me
For the price of Klipschs the fives, you can get bookshelf speakers and a receiver so why bother?
Does anyone know know if these speakers can do volume control via your TV remote like other arc soundsystems?
The cable linking the speakers should have had a more generic connector. SVS should make a marine version of this set. Perfect for outside use and in bathrooms, saunas etc etc.
Shoutout to Caleb! Your videos is always a highlight of my UA-cam week
